Wayspot duplicated after a physical move

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: The Protectors Memorial
  • Location (lat/lon): 37.703938,-121.917848
  • City: Dublin, CA
  • Country: US
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):

It looks like this statue was moved from the Civic Center to the nearby Police Station which was refurbished in the late 2010’s. Rather than moving the old wayspot, someone created a new one at 37.704676,-121.919775 “The Protector Statue”. Because this old location is inside the circle of the Civic Center building, it cannot be seen from SV, but someone did do a photo sphere in 2014: https://maps.app.goo.gl/9fv9DpTPP5AXV5AT6 (it is in the shadows).

Similarly, in the new location, there are street views that show a timeline of the station being rebuilt:
2017-05 (pre construction) https://maps.app.goo.gl/jdv46yhv6qSLY2gj6
2019-03 (mid construction) https://maps.app.goo.gl/Jp98pFVf39LrYGv48
2021-03 (post construction) https://maps.app.goo.gl/5ExKDHtD52p1EpFE9
2024-12 (most recent) https://maps.app.goo.gl/qZ7adE2Vf3BivZXo9

I’m not sure if you want to “remove this one” or “remove the new one and move this one”.

Thanks for the appeal, @nexushoratio! After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
