Wayspot not on Geospatial Browser but still rejected as duplicate

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:
ticket: 33721584

  • Wayspot Title: Adelsdorf - Pfarrhaus

  • Location (lat/lon): Adelsdorf - Pfarrhaus

  • City: Adelsdorf

  • Country: Germany

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):

As the Geospatial Browser does not show the mentioned “Wayspot” - “Kirche Adelsdorf Aisch”, I strongly believe that this is an import by the PoGo team. When submitting a new wayspot nearby with PoGo, a new wayspot import called “Kirche Adelsdorf Aisch” appeared. Having no wayspot picture and a title that is not accurate as this is the administrative building of the church and not the church itself and having an empty description. I recommend deleting this thing and replacing it with the real wayspot I nominated.
Both my title and my description are more accurate than the import.
Why is it not visible in the Geospatial Browser if that thing should show all wayspots?

This is a bit strange.

Hello and welcome,

The one on the PoGo nomination map appears to be an import, most likely a Power Spot one. These imports aren’t on the Spatial/Lightship map, as they only show in a certain game, not all Niantic games typically.

We haven’t received concrete info about this yet, but this isn’t the first time someone has nominated a valid POI to be a Wayspot, had it rejected, appealed, and the appeals team rejected it as a duplicate. Just wondering, what was the original rejection reason? Reviewers don’t see these imports on the map while reviewing, as far as we know, so that would be good to know in this case as well.

However, I will note that church rectories typically aren’t accepted. They are usually the living spaces for the priest of the church, along with office space. I don’t see how a rectory makes for a great place to be social/exercise/explore, which all nominations must meet at least 1 of. None of the church rectories where I live have Wayspots, and I think this is out of respect for the priest(s) living there.
