Is there any evidence that this is an officially sanctioned/commissioned piece of art and not just vandalism that will likely be painted over?

Graffiti isn’t typically eligible and Niantic have been removing a lot of graffiti wayspots lately, but they might restore it if there’s evidence that it’s a commissioned piece of art and not just random graffiti.

The whole wall was painted in 2018. See Google Maps here. Also this was a collaboration between French and German street art artists.See an article on that subject directly related to this series of art works here.
So, no, it’s not “a random graffiti”.

Thank you. Things like what you’ve provided can make all the difference when it comes to getting wayspots restored.

Thanks for the appeal, @morka We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.
