1 or 2 years ago these stops where in the earia and used by many players.
Also they got approved by the wayfare community and now these stops are gone!
Just gone!
This sucks for our community play and our routes in the earia.
We would like to ask them back.
Additional Information (if any): A route starts here and its used by many people true out the years.
Wayspot Title: Op de hoek van de dissel, geen idee hoe deze stop heete
Location (lat/lon): 51.890209, 4.164202
City: Brielle
Country: Nederland
Additional Information (if any): A route starts here and its used by many people true out the years.
Why are they gone after being approved by the wayfare community?
They are used by the pokemon go community here for the last 1-2 years.
It sucks that these are gone now.
I understand you prefer more historic waypoints but be fair not all towns or neibourhoods are old enough to have that right now.
These stops didnt hurt anyone, are on public streets.place, grassield. They added joy, functionality and structure to the pokemon go here.
Please put them back so we can continue our play here and walk our routes like we have been for the last few years.
I haven’t looked at all of these wayspots, but the first three I have checked and, to be totally honest, I’m not sure how they ever got approved, unless they were approved during the Netherlands abuse wave a couple of years back.
The first one is a generic street lamp, the second is just a couple of trees, and the third seems to be some sort of electrical infrastructure. None of those would meet the criteria of being a great place to socialise, exercise or explore.
I’m going to hazard a guess that the other removed wayspots may also be of similar low quality and that’s why they have also been removed.
The title of this Wayspot could be “Boom op de hoek van de Til”.
I don’t know why these Wayspots were removed. But unfortunately these do not seem to meet the eligibility criteria. These will never be restored.
Why do i need to read up on any rules?
These stops where approved by the community years ago and been in to play every since.
They do not harm anyone and are in a safe place for kids and grown ups to enjoy the game as they have been for as long as they where here.
On the other hand when i look acros the street to the industie earia nearby, allt he max battle spots are there.
Why is that earia marked as safe for kids and grownups to do there max battles?
These rules make no sence at all.
The stops here didnt harm anyone and it was not like 6 in a small space. Just enough to make the earia a good place to play pokemon go in.
Now we have to go and explain to kids as to why they cant play there game anymore.
It makes no sence and it seems very unfair.
Wayfarer does not exist to simply enable players to put an object they want at a convenient location for them.
This is manipulation of the system as this gives those players the unfair advantage in the games that use those wayspots. There is no entitlement to game locations that suit everyone. One of the tenets of wayfarer is that you go out and find places that meet criteria.
It does raise questions as to why these were approved.
There are still places that have wayspots where you can all go and play.
If the powerspots are in an unsafe area please do report them for removal.
Power spots come from an imported map which doesn’t always meet criteria, and are usually businesses which are old in my area. As @elijustrying said, if the powerspots are unsafe report them for removal.
In your original post, you say that these wayspots were around a couple of years old. Around that point in time, there was widespread wayfarer abuse happening in the Netherlands, which also spilled over into parts of neighbouring countries. There were bots that had been programmed to vote on and accept literally anything and everything, regardless of whether the nominations met the criteria or not. There was a massive thread about this issue on the previous wayfarer forum, and it resulted in the bots getting banned and many of the abusively accepted wayspots being removed.
The things you mentioned in your post do not meet the eligibility criteria in any way, so I’m guessing it’s likely that they may have been accepted whilst the bots were active, rather than by actual community members. That would explain why they have been removed, as they shouldn’t have ever been accepted in the first place.
I think @iFrankmans was suggesting that you read the criteria simply so that you have a better understanding of why these nominations should never have been accepted to begin with, and why their removal is completely valid.
I do not know about any abuse that has happened back then. (Until now)
So i assume when spots come into the game that it is all good. And we as community enjoyed the neighbourhood this way.
Non of the stops mentioned in this post and not mentioned are made to benefit just 1 person or how ever you describe it.
All stops are ment to help everyone play the game and have a desent amount of stops in the neighbourhood to play the game in a desent way.
I do find it unfair that the criteria does not take newer neighbourhoods into consideration with their rules.
Yes the game is ment to explore and yet we do not send a child far away from home if you get my point.
And to the other person saying report those max spots, well no! Cos if i do it ruins my own game play cos then i have non nearby and it ruins it for others who uses those spots.
The point was more that the rules only apply when it suits people/niantic/wayfare. And that is messed up.
The minimum criteria for something to be a Wayspot is that it is a great place to exercise, explore, or be social. There is nothing in criteria about being close enough for kids to go there unsupervised. If you can demonstrate that any of these removed Wayspots meet that core criteria, then present that evidence. Just being good for Pokemon Go is not a consideration for a Wayspot. I understand that it is painful when game locations you are used to having are removed.
I appreciate you are looking at this with a different view. And a lot of wayfarer is about opinions. So there will be some differences but the rules and guidance are there to provide some consistency about acceptance.
It’s a real world game drawing on real world places. It is therefore not going to have a predetermined even spread of everything. It isn’t a static gameboard as it normally updates daily with wayfarer. This means that new areas can have new places added. But the they have to meet the rules.
Please try to accept that the way things were was the part that was unfair and wrong.
There is a lesson to learn here and I hope you are open to learning it. If you are not you will continue to be frustrated by the situation.
