@020120133 I started on “good” and then initially went up to “excellent” then one bad comment about the A.I then I dropped back down to good but I soon went back up.
I’m not saying you’ve done anything wrong here but after 200 reviews you should at least be climbing a little.
That saying like @iltuoamico said it takes time to earn the “upgrade” bonus so make sure this is turned off in your settings as it auto applies otherwise to a future nomination you may have made and to learn a little skill in the reviewing pool.
But don’t be disheartened so early on and don’t rush by skipping things or rejecting things as it all counts in your overall scores…other reviewers near you or internationally may even get the same things to vote on so until they see the same things you have seen your rating won’t go up based on an agree/disagree scale…I like going offline after reviewing and coming back to see the percentage has risen a little .
It will make your head hurt trying to figure it out,but talk with others and gain some tips to review things more accurately that what we are all here for to work together to clear the backlog.
Hello,
I can understand that it’s frustrating to have a poor rating, but you only have 34 agreements, a 17% agreement rate out of the 200 reviews you’ve done. It’s possible that you need to get more agreements with other reviewers for your rating to approve, which is not uncommon when starting out. Being there’s no exact timeframe for a decision to be made on a submission, it could take some time. Here’s the info on ratings and agreements from the Help Center:
Your Explorer rating will improve as the number of decisions you agree with grows, and your performance rating may be lowered if you have too many Disagreements. Your rating may also decrease if abuse of the Wayfarer platform is detected. If your performance is poor, please take the time to re-evaluate how you are analyzing nominations based on our acceptance criteria.
Like it says, you may want to take some time to look at how you are reviewing based on Wayspot criteria. Something that you may think is acceptable may actually not be per criteria. For example, playgrounds are typically eligible, unless they are at an ineligible location, such as a K-12 school or private property. You can find all info on criteria here:
There’s also the Criteria Clarification Collection here, that outlines criteria for certain points of interest, which may be helpful.
Hello, I appreciate you trying to help me, because I’m a bit of a beginner and I needed a push, I was using Ais as the gemini and I couldn’t get anywhere, but thank you, if it works I’ll come back here, Thanks everyone .
You want to use your best judgment based on the Wayspot criteria. I don’t think it’s a good idea to use AI to review, and that could also be something hurting your rating.
A very strong word of caution about using AI.
I sometimes use AI to help me figure out what I want to write in a submission. I ask it about history of something or the cultural relevance of a place or item. In that way, AI is my research assistant. But when it is time for me to write the description, I use my own words to convey what AI helped me discover.
I suppose that if you have a question about a place or a thing that you are reviewing, you could do that same kind of research through AI. But the decision to accept or reject should come from your brain. You should not directly ask AI “does this nomination make a good wayspot.” Niantic has warned us about using third party tools to influence or make review decisions for us. Though I am not a Niantic employee, I believe using AI in this way would fall under that restricted usage of third party tools and be a violation of the abuse policy.
You are new and we have not had a lot of discussions on the forum about how AI could be used abusively. So I don’t think Niantic will take any action against you for this. I just advise you to be CERTAIN that you are using your own judgment when reviewing.
Please feel free to use the Review Support channel if you have questions about the kinds of submissions you see. We can give general advice on how to review them. Always remember that the answer for any single nomination is based on all the parts (title, description, photo, and location). Each of those things combine in unique ways to make something a good or poor wayspot.
Guys, this was a misunderstanding, I don’t use IAS to review, I was just asking for tips, I’m sorry if I ended up not being clear.
I would do a regular web search if you’re looking for more info on Wayfarer. AIs are still pretty new, but web searches have been around for decades, and typically have more info. Some search engines now use AI to help summarize a question, but web searches for info on Wayfarer are still the best way I can find info, especially since it gives you different links to take a look at, not just a summary.
Alright then, I’ll do what you say, thanks.
