Why on earth would this get denied as it’s not a wrong picture. It’s not deemed unsafe. It’s not inaccurate. We live in a rural part of town with one pokestop on our neighborhood. So trying to create one more shouldn’t be an issue. As everything was correct. But denied by the community. I appealed the denial of the community and sent it into wayfair. I just genuinely don’t understand what’s inaccurate or wrong about this
Welcome to the forum @Blakep2323
Since you have already appealed, I don’t see the rejection reasons.
If it was “Wayfarer criteria” then the ML (machine learning ai) model rejected it - that would have happened about 20-24 hours after you submitted it and that email would have said the decision was made by “our team” instead of the community.
To me, your title reads more like a description. I see the other portal in this park is Vista Ranch Park Pavilion. I might have called this nomination Vista Ranch Park Entrance or Vista Ranch Park Footbridge. Or Vista Ranch Park Entrance Footbridge.
The photo is pretty, but doesn’t really capture a distinct spot on the map clearly. I might have cropped it more like this
to put the focus on the footbridge allowing access to the park.
For description I might have said something like “Footbridge allowing access to the neighborhood park.”
The extra stuff is all in your supporting statement.
Let us know how the appeal goes!
Well, that’s not a title, it’s a full sentence. And you seem to have submitted a random section of sidewalk. I would reject that as “not distinct” because it’s not really a place or thing.
Hello and welcome,
I have to agree that the title doesn’t really tell me much, and is quite lengthy. I don’t know if this pond has a name, or is part of a certain neighborhood. However, I do see that the pavilion there is called Vista Ranch Park Pavilion, per the existing Wayspot, so you may want to go with Vista Ranch Park Pond Footbridge or something similar. It does appear that the trail ends at the pavilion.
I would also focus more on the footbridge and not the entrance to the trail around the pond. I don’t see any kind of sign or marker noting this is the start of the trail on Street View. If there was sign marking this as the start of a trail, that could be eligible, but again, I’m not seeing one.
Lastly, I don’t see that there is a Wayspot for the fishing dock, and that would be eligible, so consider nominating that, too!
Hey @Blakep2323 and warm greetings!
There are a few quirky things, criteria and guidelines that go on when nominating wayspots. I agree that yours looks viable.
As mentioned by others, it is just a matter of fitting in with the “rules” when submitting. I suggest using a pic like the one @cyndiepooh posted. That’s pretty much perfect for the task. I also agree with the others that you should submit as a footbridge – these nearly always get accepted. I think if you go through the process again it should sail through.
Try & find some time to read through some of the discussions on this site. You will learn a lot here, especially on how to make your nominations. Then have another look around that park next time you go there. I am thinking you will find some more spots.
It has been a pain for you so far. Please consider spending some time to find out how the system works.
Best luck with your progress !
The title reads as a description. It should be much more concise. It is also for a pond, not a park. It looks just to be a natural feature. Is this part of a park with an actual name? In the title, it also says it’s an entrance, but I can’t tell from the picture if it’s an actual entrance.
While I can appreciate the lack of stops in rural-ish areas, the number of stops in your neighborhood is irrelevant. So when you say that by trying to create one more, it shouldn’t be an issue, it’s actually a non-factor
You probably stand a better chance of getting that little pedestrian bridge approved.
