Back to 60 days in voting for the oldest.
I have a couple at 30 days I nominated when I was visiting a different area. I chalked it up to less reviewers in the area (not rural but a much less populated metro area than where I live) so I’m not sure how long it regularly takes for that area. Not super invested since I live many miles away but I figured the community would enjoy it whenever it does get approved and shows up in-game.
I’ll add my wayfrustrations to the mix, I traveled out ot town and submitted 10 PoI in smaller cities along the way at the beginning of May, I know it’s not as long as others are talking about, but 3 weeks is definitely a lot longer than what it usually takes.
Since these, I have had 20 accepted much closer to home.
Back in March I had one that just sat and sat in voting also from a smaller town. Finally used an upgrade and not 2 minutes later got the acceptance email. Does seem weird that some smaller towns are seemingly taking a lot longer than normal.
So it seems that Niantic is watching and pulls my nominations into internal review when I bring it up. I appreciate that but its still not fixing the underlying problem. One of my 60 day old nominations was decided on last night by the team.
I submitted two outside my county in late April on a road trip (one each in Avenal and Chico, both in CA). They didn’t spend any longer in queue than I expect of San Diego ones, though I think I may have upgraded the Chico one.
I have six “rural” submissions that have been in voting since the last week of January; they hit the four-month mark this week without resolving. Additionally, I know of at least one nomination from the same location that has been in voting for seven+ weeks. I’ve spent a lot of time adding to this area’s gameboard and tend to receive resolutions within a week, if not sooner, so this is incredibly unusual. I even had a handful of other submissions in the same area and timeframe that did not run into this issue and were able to reach a resolution at a normal pace.
Thankfully that community of players is not in a difficult position waiting for its only wayspots, but I can imagine how disheartening it is for wayfarers trying to add points to areas with very few when rural prioritization seems to have been changed for the worse.
Can I ask about where?
Alaska =)
I have two submissions from mid February still in the queue in a rural area (Austrian Alps in Tirol). All photo edits and title edits were done within 48 hours, but nothing seems to happen with the new submissions.
That is definitely not normal. For comparison these were also made in Alaska. On an island where there were absolutely not enough voters in range for a decision. Look up St. Paul, AK. None were upgraded and all decided between 8 and 12 days by the community, not niantic. These kind of super rural locations need waypoints the most and niantic had a system to help them. Now its broken and they struggle.
I’ve finally seen some movement on the ones I submitted beginning of May, 2 have been decided.
My 3 oldest hit 70 days in voting today. Every nomination has required Niantic employees to step in and resolve it since February. Please look into what broke the rural voting help. I have consistently been reviewing over 500 nominations a month but nothing changes.
78 days now and no movement. My submissions made in larger cities get resolved in a couple days but anything rural is frozen. For resolution times to go from 1 week to 11+ weeks in such a short period of time there is likely a bug a fault.
Agreed. Had another bunch of nominations get stuck. I’m starting to see a pattern, but will have to do more testing. Going to make a road trip hopefully this weekend to test. Another submitter close to me has some stuck as well.
Yep. Pretty sure the deciding factor is going to be which s2 lv6 voting cell the nomination is in. Id like to see if I can prove that some of the national nominations I am reviewing were not upgraded. This will show if everone is getting the priority boost and by ratios that means city people take up most. Or if not then no one is getting boosted and the whole boosting system was broken.
