A big tree as a pokestop

How do kids and dogs use this tree to play? Or do kids and dogs play in the park?

You can enter INSIDE the tree if that it’s your question. By the way there is a universitary building in front which has its name Secuoia Building

Mod note: edited to remove the name-calling

I like trees!

FWIW outside the USA sequoias are often quite famous in the places where they have been planted, and very obvious once they get to above the height of native trees. This would firmly put it in the “explore” category IMO. There was one in my home town in England, and we would literally have school trips to see it. (we called it “the punch tree” because of the spongy bark) Having said that I understand that a tree without a plaque of some kind is a natural feature and is not eligible for that reason, so that makes it moot.

When I was a kid in England we used to punch the bark of the local wellingtonia for fun… This shocks me now, and I hope it’s no longer allowed!

I don’t care, it’s just your perspective, an opinion doesn’t make a reality, any relevance in your words if you thought the opposite.

Same thoughts here…

Can people please be respectful of each other and not start insulting each other.

Oh I completely forgot that I had submitted a big tree :woman_facepalming: It did not have a sign, but I did submit it as the named garden for the tree. I had to appeal it, but I will share what I said in case it helps you.

Be nice. The exact same concept could apply to you, and your desire that this tree be a POI. That’s YOUR opinion and doesn’t make it reality or have any specific relevance that forces others to vote for your opinion.

All of wayfarer is opinions except for a very few hard and fast niantic rules like No K-12 Schools, PRP, etc.

People nominate and vote yes when they think something makes a great spot to exercise, to explore, or to socialize. You obviously think it does. However, the rejects says majority of voters disagreed. That’s what appeals are for if you think you are right and voters are wrong. The majority of comments disagree.

No matter what though, it is still just opinion.

Now, to try and constructively help. Natural Features are rarely accepted, usuallly need something man-made to serve as the anchor point. This is where signs, plaques, dedications work well. If there was a sign naming that tree it would likely be accepted as it does stand out.

Another thing is to try it as a scenic view. If you had a bench facing it, and took picture from the bench. You can sometimes get that approved depending on how impressive the photo and story are.
