A delay with Pokestops appearing in game

Hi all,

Since i reached the threshold to create Pokestops I have been around my town. I believe actively I’m pushing more through than anyone else in my town currently is. I’ve submitted nearly 200 so far with a vast amount being approved for all Niantic games.

My question is on the 4th of May i submitted a location in my town which got accepted it was in an empty cell with nothing colliding. It’s been over a week now and nothing has been placed into the game. I’ve had a problem with two other submissions also again taking much longer than the 24-48hrs to come into the game. Not just myself but another player in our community is having the same issues. I was wondering has something changed recently? I’ve submitted things in this time frame which have been accepted and have been placed into the game but for a certain reason 3 haven’t?

I was just wondering if anyone has any information which could explain why 3 stops in multiple location in my town have been approved in the game in empty cells are taking so long to appear?

Many Thanks

In this case I put the location in the back half of the cell which is empty its close to where i took the picture.

Are you sure its the only wayspot inside s2 cells? Are those wayspot close to each other? Certain owner can ask geoblock to restrict wayspot becoming pokestop/gym

Can you share the location aka “coords” of your location so people here can look at it on the map?

If you are using iitc to check cells, remember that is just a map of portals, not all Wayspots. If you are not comfortable sharing the location publicly, you can check if there are other Wayspots you didn’t know about if you turn the toggle on in the nomination map screen and check while you are standing right there. There is also the possibility that your pin was moved in review if you placed it in a cell you thought was empty.

This second one again I’m just not understanding why it hasn’t gone into the game yet. It’s been nearly two weeks at least. The nomination was accepted, I placed it into a grid which had nothing in and it hasn’t appeared in Pokemon Go or IITC yet. I know IITC usually takes a while to accept. I know if i get the grid placement wrong it’ll go into another game which is cool and it usually appears with the red explanation mark but it hasn’t. I know they aren’t duplicated either.

The Bowling Court was accepted at 53.396845, -2.589006 and is in the same Level 17 S2 Cell as the Irish Club. Assuming the Irish Club is already in Pokémon Go as a Pokéstop or Gym, that is preventing the Bowling Court from appearing.

I submitted it into an empty cell. So now i need to find out which game the submission went into and try and get it moved and It’ll move from one game possibly into Pokemon?

May i ask how you found the updated information? I can’t see anything my end with what I’m using. Thanks

Submitting something to an empty cell that isn’t actually there is abuse.

If the Wayspot is incorrectly located, you don’t have to find a game it went into. You can use help chat on the wayfarer website for that. But they will not move an accurately pinned location for cell reasons.

It looks as though the Irish Club is in the same cell. So that will block it.

Fun Zone is at 53.389438, -2.595932 and is in the same Level 17 S2 Cell as Welcome to Warrington.

Reviewers are able to move your location pin if they think it’s not quite accurate or that it’s not in the location that best works as a natural point of discovery for the wayspot.

The Geospatial Browser has been synced and does show your wayspots.

The bowling court goes through two different cells, I took the picture from the side path towards the back which is a closer positioning than the front cell which the Irish Bar already in.

That’s so annoying. I placed it on the grass towards the back but for some reason it’s been placed not even on the grass… Is there any way i can fix this many thanks.

Yes that would have been ok in my view,if at the edge but it has been moved during review to be close to the club.
Unfortunately and frustratingly you cant now move it. It is at an acceptable position and an attempt to move it now will be seen as trying to manipulate the game board and you could be subject to a sanction.

If you placed it on the bowling green its self then the reviewers would be correct to move it off of the playing area.
The edge where it was on the object but not interfering with play is a correct placement

Yeah i made the Welcome to Warrington stop a few months back. It’s close to it but isn’t in the same cell. Do you know how i can reposition it? thanks

That’s really annoying. I understand though thank you

I didn’t know this was a rule at all. I thought as the nomination was the bowling green itself I should put the marker on the bowling green not on a side path surrounding it.

I wasn’t accusing you of abuse. I was trying to be very clear that there is a way to move it even if you can’t see it in your game, but Niantic considers it abuse to move something for cell reasons if the pin is already accurate, so don’t ask them to do it in that case. I need to prewrite a statement for that so it doesn’t come off wrong. I did not know this was a problem for them until fairly recently (the help page just calls trying to move a pin away from the object abuse) and I try to let everyone know not to do that, even if the pin would still be correct. Sorry this happened to your nomination.

It is essentially the same as this football field example
