Accepted Wayspot not appearing in any Niantic game - Unidos X Tenerife

Hello Niantic team.

I would like to report an issue with an accepted Wayspot that has not appeared in any Niantic game.

  • Wayspot name: Unidos X Tenerife
  • Location (coordinates): 28.4721326, -16.3242161
  • Date of acceptance: August 27, 2025

I received the acceptance email on that date, but the Wayspot does not appear in Pokémon GO, Ingress, or any other Niantic game. This makes me think there might have been a synchronization issue or an error in adding it to the Lightship database.

Could you please review this case and help ensure that the Wayspot is properly added to Lightship and synced to the games?

Thank you very much for your support.

Hey, your accepted Wayspot can not come live in Pokémon GO because the game uses additional rules, namely S2 Level 17 cells, to determine density of Pokestops and Gyms (only one per cell). Your accepted Wayspot is in an already taken cell with Ciudad Deportiva C. D. Tenerife

Welcome to the forum @nino5i7

There is a post by @cyndiepooh which may help explain what’s going on:

The coordinates you’ve provided appear to be in the same Level 17 S2 Cell as “Ciudad Deportiva C. D. Tenerife”. If you can see this as a Pokéstop or Gym in Pokémon Go, that is very likely the reason your nomination is unable to be a Pokéstop or Gym itself.

To add to what the others have shared - each Niantic/Scopely game has their own inclusion rules (distance/density). In addition to that Pikmin Bloom and Monster Hunter Now do not have regular syncs. So this may appear in one several, or none of the games.

Note that Ingress and Peridot have stayed with Niantic Spatial and are completely separate from Pokemon Go nominations.

Thank you for your quick response. Before giving up, I wanted to ask: could the PokéStop “Ciudad Deportiva Tenerife” be moved slightly to the side, since it physically takes up a lot of space, so it doesn’t overlap with the new PokéStop?

There are very few PokéStops in my area, and since one of my submissions was accepted, I’d love to be able to use it.

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum,

Also note that Niantic has been split with the majority being purchased by Scopely (including Pokemon Go and Wayfarer). Ingress remained with the previous company now called “Niantic Spatial”

Do not try to move a spot that is in a correct location, even if you believe there is a “better” location. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to warnings / suspensions on all your accounts.

Your nomination may…

  • become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
  • replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
  • be used in other Scopely games.

***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games).

Thank you very much for the information, but I want to emphasize that I don’t want to remove the existing PokéStop; I just want to move it slightly because I believe it could have a better location, as the current one isn’t entirely correct and also overshadows a potential new PokéStop.

This would be an extremely risky move, If the review team believe the original location is correct (which it looks like it is) then a move will be seen as manipulating the game.

It is not worth the risk, remember that any suspension will not be just for wayfarer but also for Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games. It can go up to 10 years suspension.

We do not have an up to date map so only you can confirm on site but there seems to be some football pitches close by.

Note: These look like 1 facility so should be only 1 waypoint for all of them. Best place for the Pin is behind one of the goals (keep of the field of play).

Taking another look it seems like it is the “Football Stadium” and 3 training pitches so you may get away with 2 nominations. Suggest the stadium 1st then try the training grounds but don’t get upset if the 2nd one is marked as duplicate.

Looking into street view, it seems to be in correct position. Moving away wayspot from correct position is subject to abuse ladder system especially since this involve moving to empty cell in order to create pokestop. I dont recommend you to do this.

I don’t intend to move it to a completely different location; I just want to shift the PokéStop slightly to the right, since it’s a huge structure that spans about 10 meters, and in this case, the PokéStop is at one of its edges. I just want to center it so the location is more accurate and there will be room for a new PokéStop.

Anyway, I really appreciate all the information you’ve given me and that you warned me so well about a possible ban.

If you look at the image I posted, the green lines are the cell. You would have to move it approx 50 meters north to exit the cell.

As it is definitely in a correct location any move even to another correct location would be classed as Abuse.

Moving it in any other direction would be moving away from the actual waypoint, again this would be Abuse.

I understand that you are not moving the pokestop away from the point of interest. But Niantic staff have said here many times that moving an already correct pin for game manipulation is abuse. We don’t want you to get in trouble.

If you are determined to ask for the edit, imo you should ask help chat on the Wayfarer site https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help to do the location edit and give them evidence that this is a real life correction. What it does for Pokemon Go and how it affects the cells doesn’t matter for pin location and should not be mentioned.

I don’t understand exactly what you are trying to move where, but am explaining what others have said.

To quote “Hindsight is a wonderful thing"…

As the original wayspot stretches about 80 meters north it could have been entered anywhere along the front fence line but as it is already at a correct location this is where it must stay.

Just to confirm, the only location edits that are not Abuse is when they are from an incorrect location. This is not the case here.

As this is your 1st post I will assume you have not been nominating for long and you have already had an accepted waypoint, it is just unfortunately that Pokemon Go’s proximity rules have stopped it appearing as a Pokestop or Gym.

Most new wayfarers spend time getting rejections as they don’t understand the criteria, you have already done better than this so chin up, move on and nominate more. Success will come your way.

Good luck.

I wasn’t aware of Niantic’s criteria for what counts as abuse. As you’ve probably guessed, I’m new and just wanted to see if there was anything I could do. Thanks a lot for the information and for looking out for me.

No problem.

Keep posting, ask for advice. We are “usually” a friendly bunch.

This has been one of the good threads…

  • You asked for advice.
  • Advice was given.
  • You have taken the advice on board.

This is what we like to do.

We do sometime get the “My perfect nomination has been incorrectly rejected”, “It doesn’t meet criteria because of this, this and this”, “No you are wrong and I demand my nomination is accepted”

The other is “I want a stop outside my house so you should accept whatever I nominate”, “wayfarer is broken”.

Sometimes replies to these are not quite as friendly
