Why hasn’t my pokestop showed up? And how do I contact customer service about it? I don’t play any other Niantic games so it would be useless to add it to another one of their games. And a waste of my time and effort to nominate it. There’s are not a lot of stops in the area so it’s not a cell issue or whatever. It was literally accepted in less than a day and hasn’t been added in 2 days now
Others can provide more information, and are usually much quicker than I am. However, if you read your email, you’ll notice that it says not all accepted wayspots show up in all games. What the games are very bad at telling people is that you aren’t submitting a PokéStop, or a portal for ingress, but rather a way spot that is entered into a global database from which multiple games pull those way spots for their own purposes.
In Pokémon GO, for example, there are rules about how close PokéStops can be. It’s based on a system called S2 cells. There can only be one way spot that shows in Pokémon GO within one level 17 S2 cell. If you Google it, you’ll be able to find more information.
Chances are your accepted nomination is being blocked by another PokéStop. If you give the coordinates or exact location of the place nominated, someone could look it up for you if you’re comfortable doing that.
(40316230 , -83110221)
Here are the coordinates
(40316230 , -83110221)
Coordinates for anyone that can tell me why or if my pokestop nomination that was accepted is not showing
Can you confirm the coordinates where the decimal point should be?
Is it here?
I assume your one is the Public Park? If so, you already have a PokéStop in that cell as highlighted so it won’t appear in Pokémon GO as it doesn’t meet their inclusion rules. It does appear in Ingress as it meets that games inclusion rules.
Let me know if it’s not that one/that location though.
I guessed at 40.316230 , -83.110221 which got me there
I did too, and got the same place, but was hoping he could confirm just in case.
Yeah that would be it. Just doesnt make sense to accept a waypoint I specifically nominated for Pokémon. And then to find out it will probably be in a game I will never play. Seems a bit demoralizing. I do appreciate the input though. Unfortunately I guess I will no longer be using wayfarer or nominating spots as it has proven to be more trouble than it’s worth for a few extra pokeballs and items in game haha. There are plenty of players around here and not many pokestops. I’ve seen ones nearby where there’s a gym and 2 stops sitting almost on top of each other. Doesn’t make a lick of sense. Good day
The games don’t make it clear but you’re not nominating a Portal for Ingress or a PokéStop for Pokémon GO.
You’re nominating a Wayspot for the Niantic Map, which may become one or both (or sometimes neither) of those if it meets the inclusion rules for that game.
I could nominate from Ingress, and if what I nominate doesn’t meet the inclusion rules for that game, but meets them for Pokémon GO, it would only show up there.
For Pokémon GO, only cells matter for inclusion rules so you could have one just above where that flagstone is (if there’s something eligible there, just using an example) and it would appear in Pokémon GO, even though it seems super close (as it’s in a different cell) but wouldn’t appear in Ingress (as it would be within 20m of an existing Portal).
There may also have been previous abuse for the areas you mention, resulting in stops that are misplaced.
Hello and welcome @meadowsc1323
If you would like there are fellow wayfinders in here who would be only too happy to help have a virtual look around the area for places you could submit and be successful in getting them into the game you play.
There seems to be a swimming pool nearby that spot. I’m not exactly clear on its location. But pools are good wayspots.
So that pool right there would work? I’ll try it. Thanks for the info. Quick question. I should put the waypoint outside the shaded area in that map in the comments above? I assume that shaded area is why my previous nomination wasn’t added to Pokémon go
If you pin the pool at the entrance from this sidewalk, which is a legitimate place to pin it, then it will be in a separate L17 S2 cell. If this is accepted, and I can’t think why it would not be, that will give you two pokethings in the L14, and one of them will be promoted to a gym.
When you have a choice, you can definitely pin in the cell that will allow it to become a pokestop or gym. Never just put the pin in an empty cell. That would be abuse, and reviewers would most likely see the pin is wrong and move it back anyway.
I am very confused by this pin. It appears to be in a parking space.
I mean it’s the only way I could get a picture of the park itself
I’m standing on the curb of the parking space not even 5 feet from the slide I couldn’t get in frame otherwise
The pin must be at the waypoint location, not where you took the photo
Hello again.
It’s quite a common misunderstanding when it comes to wayfarer submission technique.
There are 2 reasons this happens. One is that you think the pin has to match the photo view. The other is that you don’t realise that the pin might not be correct. The pin will default to where you are standing, you are then meant to adjust the position so that it is on the object, before confirming. If you are standing back from the object to take the picture, this is likely to happen. So make sure you don’t just trust where the pin pops up, but actually check and confirm.
A good technique is to take your photos before starting the submission.
Check them on your phone to see if the look good, there are no car licence plates, faces etc in the picture. If there are can they be cropped out? Or go take another picture.
You can then start the nomination process, using the checked photos, and moving the pin onto the object.
If you have an approved object where the pin is not correct, you can go to the location, click on the photo and then the 3dots top right and submit an edit to correct the location.
