Sorry you have found the forum under these circumstances, but welcome!

I do want to be clear that any staff members will have “Niantic” in front of their names here. Any of the rest of us asking questions are just trying to help you with presenting your best case. You may answer here if you wish, or save it for the discussion with staff if they send you a direct message.

Did you use the logo for the place taken from a website? It is against the rules to use any image that you took from somewhere else as the main photo.

Hey @524019672673 ,

I have shared the relevant details through a DM. Please check at your convenience. Thanks,

Ah yes I can see why this got you in trouble!! :grimacing:

Next time please take your own pictures and make a good supporting picture that helps show where the nomination is, and things will go much better!

We will be happy to help you over in the Nomination Support section if you would like to check out some possible nominations whilst suspended. That way you can be more confident about submitting in future.

Happy they lifted the ban! For future reference, using game-specific language in the description or supporting statement might be seen as influencing reviewers so it’s better to avoid that :))

I’m glad your ban was lifted! However, I want to say something about this nomination. It’s a coaching institute focused on students aged 15 and above, so it isn’t actually eligible. You could still try nominating spots like the canteen or the campus nearby, but from what I’ve seen, the actual center doesn’t qualify

If it is focussed on students aged 15 and above, it is not eligible.

The Niantic guidelines do say “primarily aimed at under 18s”, but it is widely understood that anything which targets under 18s is not eligible, even if over 18s can also go there.

For example, universities which are for 18+, but can have some under 18s (which is all universities in the western world), do not target under-18s and are OK.

A sixth form high school in the UK, which is for ages 16-18, is not OK.

[Edit: Corrected after @elijustrying pointed out what I had missed in the guidelines]

Adding this for clarity

This is from the criteria clarifications.

I would always recommend that if anyone is considering submitting somewhere that is not clear about the age range, to bring it to this forum in nomination support so that a discussion and advice can be given prior to submission.

I really wish the basic rejection criteria below could include this same clarification.

“Location is a private residential property (even if historical), farmland, a K12 and under school (preschool, primary/elementary, secondary/high school), child care/daycare center, rehabilitation center, safety shelter” from Niantic Wayfarer

I think saying K-12 at all is really misleading. Just say children under 18 and be clear

I look at K12 and think it means children up to 12 ie pre-teenager.

So I think that would be a good improvement to make the criteria more clear

I agree with you both.

I remember when I started I had no idea what K-12 meant.

I wondered if it meant a mash up of the English & Welsh key stages but there are only 5 with school years of which there are 13. (Scotland has own system where the final year is S6)

Obviously I now know it’s a US term meaning from Kindergarten through to 12th grade.

I do think having an age and nothing else is more globally understood.
