Any ideas why rejected?

Submitted a religious cross at a church and it got rejected after voting.

Here’s my description:
A beautiful red cross is mounted on a rustic stone wall, symbolizing faith and community. A peaceful place for reflection, this cross is a distinct and meaningful feature of the church’s exterior.

Is it not distinct enough or something?

Anyone have any input?

“Various rejection criteria” is a tough one without more input. Would you be comfortable giving us screenshots of the full nomination, including location? This cross could have been seen as not Distinct from the church, or a duplicate of the church if it is already a Wayspot. Reviewers may have thought leaving out the name of the church made it low quality text, or there could be something with the location or supporting statement :woman_shrugging:

The church is a way point , (well the church sign technically is), however I’m under the assumption, if a church is a way point, religious statues/art are still eligible for separate nominations.

It is really difficult to convince that a cross on the wall of a church is not a duplicate of the church. This is a very simple cross that I am not sure stands on its own merits as art separate from the church.

If you can find out any history about this cross or anything that makes it significant, you could add that to the nomination for a resubmit. Do include the name of the church if you do.

I remember reviewing that and wasnt convinced it was eligible on its own as it seemed like just a cross on the facade.
