Appeal Denied

I have a feeling that this appeal was wrongly denied. This is a community building within the park in the city of Rushville, Indiana. Reviewers gave the denial reason for the original denial as blurry photo and the appeal reason says photo was taken from car. I’m not local to the area and submitted it just driving through. I’ve submitted thousands of things that have gotten accepted but this one for some reason just seems wrong. I thought I would submit this one and it would easily get accepted. I believe it was truly denied because in the supporting info I used the wrong word and called it a community center when in fact it is the community building for the fairgrounds at the park. It’s used by the fair and for other city wide events, it’s even available to be rented by the public. Another thing that hurts it is that it is right across the street from a school. Although it is not at the school. Reviewers didn’t give this reason for denial but I’m surprised that they didn’t. For some reason I believe this was wrongly denied. The photo isn’t even bad. I’m not seeing why this one was denied. The reason why must be the sunlight shining down in the photo to be used in game. That’s the only thing that makes sense. Still doesn’t seem like a logical reason for denial as the photo truly isn’t blurry and shows the sign on the building. I probably didn’t give enough info in my appeal but I truly didn’t feel as if it was necessary because the fairgrounds is even marked on the map. Really has me confused. Have a great day everyone. Thank you for reading

Well…were the photos actually taken while in a car?

Hey there. 4H buildings and fairgrounds are usually great places for socializing, exercising, and exploring.

Would you mind posting the full resolution images and not just screenshots from the submission page? They can be downloaded from the website if you’ve deleted the original photos.

Well here is the main question, is the main photo taken from inside a car? I saw the blur in here.

Hello

This area of the forum is for specific appeals relating to reinstatements and removals.

There is no formal process for appealing an appeal, but I shall move this to nomination support where we can discuss.

From what I remember in the past is that part of the car actually had to be visible in the photo though for that reason to be used. It was taken from inside of my car. It’s been really cold here in Indiana and I didn’t want to get out and take a chance on getting my shoes dirty. Regardless I guess I’m going to have to go back sometime to resubmit

Thank you for asking about that @Gendgi

I appreciate you @elijustrying. Have a wonderful day

A bit clarify, the Ineligible photo section said taken inside a car, so even if the part of the car does not shown, a glass blur can show it.

Good luck with the resubmit!

I’m positive you are right. Thank you for your hard work here. Goes for all who commented. I’m appreciative of all of you taking the time out of your day to comment to me here.

I would have to park in the grass :joy: I guess I’m going to just have to wait until the ground dries a little bit and walk out there and take the photo next time I’m in that area. There is a lot to submit there anyways. Thank you :folded_hands: Have a great day

A wayfarer needs good boots

I have ended up squidging my way across a boggy park to take pictures before. Ended up with wet toes.:grimacing::joy:

That’s what I’m going to have to use when I go back I think :joy:

I’ll have to remember to pack those when I leave this time

Always the worst when your shoes get wet on the inside. I’m the type to drive home without them then :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Ok slightly off topic but following the need to get of the car to find and take suitable pictures….

This was an artwork as part of Rochdale’s Town of Culture event

It reminded me of all the different bits and pieces needed by a wayfinder to go exploring. :joy:

Huh. I’m pretty shocked this was denied for that reason…twice. I have a knee that often hurts me and I have struggled with plantar fasciitis, plus I live in an area where the summer heat and humidity is oppressive. I have taken plenty of photos from my car due to those issues. I have learned how to pull up and angle the car so that I can roll my window down and snap the image from my car without getting any of the car parts in the image.

I’ve had other times when I’ve made the long walk, been tired and in deep pain, and taken a crappy photo because of all that and had the photo rejected because it was “blurry.” This is a real issue when I’m taking photos outdoors and can barely see my screen in the sun. I can’t tell that the photo I walked through pain to get to is bad until I’m back in my car and can’t fix it.

In my opinion, unless the photo is just atrocious, we shouldn’t reject a good candidate like this for small issues like a tiny bit flare of reflection. In that earlier case, when I appealed it, I wrote something like, “This was rejected for being blurry, but it’s not that bad. You can clearly see what the object is and the purpose of the main photo is just to help people identify it.” It was approved. I think some logic applied in the appeal could help them be more reasonable.

I love it! That’s a really interesting piece of art. I love finding things like that

I completely agree wholeheartedly. I’ve got some unfortunate health issues myself. The way I see it although the photo may not be the greatest, it’s not hurting anything and a new better photo can always be submitted after it appears in game. I’ve done that before actually, realized after I submitted something that my photo was crappy and went back to take a better one. It really is hard seeing the screen when it’s like that. I’ve been there and done that as well. I couldn’t agree more with everything that you said. You’re :100: right

That artist is also extremely talented. So much detail in there. How unique! I love seeing things like this in game. It’s something someone could miss upon visiting and end up finding while playing. Makes playing even more fun. An amazing submission
