Yep, it’s removed many months ago from Ingress, and Im appealing to bring them back into Ingress game.

I think Wayfarer team can do the same job. Well it’s removed in chaos due to foursquare migration, so there isn’t be a problem, if Wayfarer team change a code line of these wayspots in database.
