Approved Wayspot and cell verification for PokéStop

Hello. Could someone advise me? Yesterday (December 7, 2025) at around 2 p.m. CET, my nomination for a PokéStop (Wayspot) was approved. However, it is still not on the map today (I can see it when nominating another PokéStop) and is probably in another game. However, there is an unoccupied cell on the border. Is it possible to verify whether this is due to an already occupied cell? If so, can the coordinates be moved a little to the empty cell? The coordinates are 48.976122, 14.455735. Thank you.

Unfortunately it shares a cell with another wayspot

Presumably that is in the game so yours can’t be as a pokestop or gym

This is in an occupied L17 S2 cell:

I’m glad these ladies helped you. But you also did not wait long enough for sync to happen. When the email tells you that it might not appear for 48 hours, that is due to the timing of things being approved and going live. Please wait a FULL 48 hours before you start worrying about it appearing in the game.

I started to link this, but didn’t when we saw it wasn’t eligible:

Okay, can it be deleted and moved a meter? Shifted?

if the location is correct in the real world, niantic considers an edit request to move an already correct pin as abuse for game manipulation. if there is no real world reason to remove the wayspot, the removal request will be denied.

IF the location is actually NOT correct, then you can ask help chat at https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help to move the location. they will want geotagged photos as evidence that it is really a correction.

But they have never confirmed the S2 cell use, so that might not be something that is provided.

The bottom line is these are user tools created by the community. How they feel fit to share and support them is up to those creators. It is already a more effective tool for those who have found access to it than was originally shipped by the staff.

Over 2/3 of the posts on this thread have now gone off topic of the content poster. I understand the original question and replies thought to address it efficiently but the conversation has dragged on.

There have been several flags created for staff to review and I think at this point it is best if either another topic channel be created for this discussion or for us all to step away until the OP has more questions or commentary to provide.

Thanks.

I can only assume staff that has acted on flags has reached out to concerned individuals.

  • Action taken in this thread was at staff discretion
  • They are not obligated to play “cleanup” especially on topics they may not have interest in facilitating
  • I’m not sure why some posts remained and others were hidden

Stepping away until they futher comment.

No staff has reached out to me, just gotten auto messages that whatever was flagged was removed.
