Can art at chains be accepted? In my local area, at Taco Bell there’s a gym because there’s art there.
Yes. Corporate art that is in every location should be rejected, but some places have distinct art that makes excellent Wayspots. Firehouse Subs and Trader Joes are great examples of chains that have locally themed individual murals painted at every location. Even some Walmart locations do now.
Sometimes something will be accepted anyway because people think it is cool. Shouldn’t have been accepted is not a removal criteria though.
The one you’re referring to isn’t a good example of eligibility - that’s a mass reproduction that is installed at many Taco Bell locations.
A few McDonald’s in Des Moines have started installing pieces by actual local area artists that often highlight local culture. Those have been flying through.

I understood that. It doesn’t meet acceptance criteria, but having been accepted, it doesn’t meet removal criteria imo.
That said about removal criteria, there was this post where Niantic did retire a generic McDonald’s the other day:
I wouldn’t submit it, but its not really eligible to be removed either.
Nothing particularly wrong with it ie its safe, permanent etc. Usually removal is about something being fake, permanently removed, obstruction pf emergency services, or on school or at someone’s house. Not just because its a bit boring

That still should have been rejected imo because a quick google search shows it is in many locations, but it is easier to see how that slipped through voting.

@LCDAngel99 as you are relatively new here and clearly accessing the Wayfarer App, just a quick reminder in case you don’t know that Wayfinders are not supposed to use the App.
Please don’t be tempted to make submissions for example as if accepted they go into the database but stay in limbo and are not picked up for game use. As they are in the database they are brought up in the duplicate check in review so they block proper submissions.
