the art has been replaced and I have submitted a new PoI that is waiting for this one to be removed. Pictures below are the new art and supporting photo that shows location with street sign reference
@AgentX1976 has the object itself been replaced or is it just the art on the object ??
From what I can see on your photo it’s a vinyl wrap on a traffic box.
If the object itself hasn’t physically changed but the art on it has then as an Ingress player you should know the best way is to upload the new artwork to the existing wayspot/portal and then when approved let people like the image to force update the photo of course you can do this yourself too.
There’s no need for the poi to be removed in this instance if the object itself hasn’t changed or been upgraded
The wayspot photo currently isn’t the best so I can’t really tell if the objects are the same on the one of them.
And finally there is a Mission that starts here which may also have been the reason for the rejection and could look like you are trying to manipulate the gameboard to Niantic (I’m not saying you are) for the removal.
I’m just throwing my view into this as one voice of many.
This would have nothing to do with the rejection as it is game related, but I am interested in what Niantic has to say about this appeal. I think they still say an updated “mural” should be edited, but other poi need to be removed and replaced. However when I tried to correct the name of a rotating artwork, they said it was a new artwork compared to the one that had been approved, rejected my edit, removed the Wayspot, and told me to resubmit it. I think this new wrap on the same utility box is the same situation as my new artwork on the same frame that they removed, and am wondering how they will rule here.
@cyndiepooh that’s good to know, the reason I mentioned the fact there was a mission (not a route for you pogo fans) is it cancelled also wreck that mission if it’s removed granted the particular portal/Wayspot would lose part of its mission on some occasions only the intel map will show if part of the mission is moving directly compared to inside the
Game,in this instance I was always lead to believe the mission would drop back into the authors draft box under the mission creator tool.
Maybe I’m way off on reasons for rejection (I can’t keep blaming you know who) but having two of us that is curious is one for @NianticAaron I guess.
The old art has been removed and there is new art there now. And instead of going through the process of getting a photo to be accepted and then trying to change the title and the description to match the new artwork and then getting in and having the old artwork removed I just submitted a new poi. It was accepted it is ready to go all we have to do is remove the old one and everything changes and nobody can fight me on changing the photo, title, credit to the artist in the description
I have done missions that are down to two portals left in them. I don’t think removing one portal wrecks a mission. However removing a pokestop or gym that anchors a route does wreck that, a removed showcase stop doesn’t get replaced, and removing a gym loses all the status the trainer has earned for that gym. There is way more effect on Pogo for removal than Ingress imo.
It just moves to the next point of Interest. The only way a mission gets completely wrecked is if all the points of interest for that mission disappear.
