Every now and again, I submit a title or description edit that gets a very unsatisfactory result. Take this one, for example:
This is the only trail marker for this trail that I did not personally submit, and the original submitter did a pretty awful job. The description has faulty grammar, misspelled words, no capitalization whatsoever and meaningless fluff. I wanted to correct it so that it matches all the other markers for this trail that were submitted by me, but for some reason that I cannot fathom, the reviewers kept the awful original description. To add to the frustration, they did accept my title edit.
Now, I know we can already appeal edits like these, but any appeal spent on an edit is an appeal I can’t spend on a rejected submission. And if I have to choose, I’m obviously choosing to spend my appeals on submissions every time. I’m sure everyone would.
So why can’t we get appeals specifically for title edits, description edits, location edits and photo submissions, each with their own 15-day cooldown? It would do a lot of good for the quality of the database, since edits can often be rejected with zero logical reason.
