Church next to a Kindergarten

One of our local wayspots “Gemeindehaus” was removed a few years ago. It is an evangelical church building, documented at this website:

The reason for its removal is likely its proximity to a pre-school care facility (kindergarten), even though it is has nothing to do with the facility at all. Unfortunately it nevertheless shares the same postal address with the kindergarten (Brookkehre 12, 21029 Hamburg-Bergedorf): Google Maps

The Website of the kindergarten: Kindergärten – Waldorfschule Bergedorf – Rudolf Steiner Schule Bergedorf Waldorf

The Websites do make it clear that the church and kindergarten are two separate organizations: Die Christengemeinschaft in Bergedorf - Lüneburg - Wendland vs Rudolf Steiner Schulverein Bergedorf e.V. My guess is that the kindergarten is subletting the building to the church, but I really don’t know.

Is there any option to request a re-evaluation of the removal or a chance to submit a new nomination for the church? If the decision is final and permanent, could we at least find out what happened?

Attaching some photos showing the two locations as side by side.

Building no. 12 seeems to be part of kindergarten property. In practice, Wayfarer mostly removes buildings if they share the space with a kindergarten

It seems to be used by the kindergarten, judging from their website

That is the back yard of the kindergarten building - photo I shared shows the buildings are separate. Haven’t seen anything to show they share the same year. They do have separate entrances. I’m sure this is why the stop was removed, because it’s hard to tell what’s what. Does it mean there is no chance to appeal the removal anyway?

We are not staff. We are making suggestions for evidence you may need to present for your appeal.

OK, I hope someone from the team will be able to check it. I’ll supply any further information if needed and if possible to get. I think the photos and websites show they are two different entities.

@cyndiepooh Can you please advise me how to get Niantic/Scopely staff involved to check this? Is there someone I can tag here?

Hello,
I would suggest a formal appeal to reinstate in Wayspot Appeals onthis forum.

I would focus on photos and the maps to show different entrances and that there is a clear division and that the two are kept separate. Any other evidence from weblinks.
If the property belongs to the school chances are smaller.
Put your case as strongly as you can and staff will assess it. You will then know one way or another.

Thanks, as it turns out, won’t be needed. Upon re-visiting the area I noticed an entirely different POI next to the church which I nominated and got approved. I’ll just assume some automatic AI process removed the previously approved pokestop, or someone reported it. Am still a bit curious about what happened, but I don’t want to bother about something trivial. Thanks again for your help! P.S. The new nomination got us a new gym! Our Pokemon Go community is very happy these days.

Congrats on the new wayspot and gym.
It is always worth walking around and looking carefully.

I actually walked by there several times and never even noticed the anchor!

This is fairly common once you start wayfaring - specifically, when you are looking for interesting things as opposed to trying to fill up cells.

You can see things that most people don’t even notice and which you have walked past many many times before.
