Clarification needed on builder's signs in front of real estate

Is there a way to petition for a decision on this?

But the point is when a stop is being considered shouldn’t be the greater community not a hyper specific one?

People are capable of that but it seems rare here.

If these were removed would the community be worse off?

I say no. These are only decorative at this point. If they were removed it would not impact anything.

Secondly the percentage of people who pass these without noticing or looking at them has to be significantly higher than any other type of stop.

I think I have started many of these discussions. If staff think these meet any of the criteria of a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social, they need to say so. If they don’t, they need to remove these when reported.

A single appeal decision does not set criteria.

It means that this specific appealed wayspot does not meet the criteria for removal, which is
what was requested. As with everything in the appeals section it refers to this one object.
It says nothing about initial acceptability.

It shows explorers that this is a good example of a Wayspot by leaving it in place and as @Mystogan5097 inferred. This needs to be addressed. As i have said many times, I can walk to around a hundred of these if staff deem them eligible. there are four at every street intersection here.

I am sure he has.

And will continue to promote these as good Wayspots.

Local community is the entire US. That is not local.

And yet they remove bike route markers that the local community deemed eligible.

I know that it is an intuitive thing to do …look around you and see wayspots being used and assume that is a signal of eligibility.
And it is right up there in the top 3 of things not to do when starting out on wayfarer, as we all repeatedly tell people.
There is no blanket ruling that makes sense for these estate signs as they do vary.

As I am from the Netherlands with many bike route markers this topic is very frustrating to see, when this wayspot gets to stay and our bike markers don’t. They clearly encourage exploration, but that’s the teams decision.

I am sick and tired of the lack of support from staff on these signs. They meet none of the basic criteria.

I wish the team could be more clear about a lot of things. If they were clear about it they would honestly avoid these discussions that come up everytime now

You would really drive around and go explore these neighborhood signs? Take a friend to see them?

I agree with @cyndiepooh here, they defenitely do not meet the core criteria for a wayspot. I find this is just some welcoming sign, not a landmark.

We just brought up yesterday in the Wayfarer Discussion Discord that about 50% of the nominations we are getting to review are these builders signs. A clarification should be made.

General Comment:
It is a vexed topic that causes deep frustration in a range of ways perhaps it would be helpful to take some time away from this particular thread. It was set up for a specific appeal so a more general discussion here doesnt seem helpful/

Meeting up at the sign is the classic example of something that you can do there, but not what it was meant for.

Disagree but will step away.
