Concerning Your Wayfarer Submission 30day ban for no reason

Hi, so I submitted a pokestop ages ago was a village sign mentioning how historical the village is and that’s it! It was rejected and I wasn’t that worried I just wanted to create more pokestops for players. A while after I now have a 30 day ban so I can’t even play the game which sucks so
close to Christmas where I usually help my younger family in raids.

I’m just so upset and no clue why a 30 day ban is necessary for a Submission of a celebratory sign
Whenever I contact support I just keep getting automated messages

Welcome to the forums

You will have an email explaining why you got a suspension. It won’t be simply because of submitting a village sign, as that is not abuse. It might not even be because of that submission, but if it is, there is clearly something about your submission that looks abusive, such as the location, photo, text.

It would be good for you to find the email you were sent. Please check all accounts that are potentially linked to Wayfarer/Pokemon Go.

Hi so my message was the usual one I think they send everyone with the village sign mentioned

‘Hello Explorer,

Following an internal investigation performed by our team, we have confirmed that your recent behavior has violated one or more policies.

As a result of this violation, your Wayfarer and Niantic game account(s) have been suspended for 30 days.

You have violated the following policies: Malicious image submission, Malicious image submission. For more details, look for previous emails sent by noreply@nianticlabs.com.’

Then

‘Following a report and an internal investigation performed by our team, we have confirmed that the content you contributed on 12/7/25, 11:13:42 AM UTC is violating one or more policies. We have taken action against it.

Here is more information:

Content: Historical village of st osyth welcome sign
Policy Violated: Malicious image submission’

Which is so strange because it’s literally a village sign! It’s one created to commemorate the village too! So strange and I just hope I can get some help from support

Did you take your own photos or did you take one from the internet?

This email clearly indicates the source of the suspension, which is the photo of the village sign. This is not a problem with the POI itself, but a problem with the photo used.

Photos have to be taken by you. They cannot be sourced from google streetview or any other websites.

Also, if your own photo taken with your own camera/phone is uploaded to other websites, it is impossible to know that that picture on that other website belongs to the person who submitted the wayspot. Never upload wayspot photos to any website (although this one is safe because it can be attributed to the poster).
