could this old bicycle (penny farthing i believe) which now has a few plants on it (and is basically being used as a unique plantpot) one on the seat and a few on the side be turned into a wayspot. Ive used this image of google as i dont have a photo of it yet
Its not on streetview yet as its a recent addition to the village but it’s in this general area next to the bus stop which is easy to get to as theres a path and a crossing there.

Looking at streetview, it will depend if it is placed upon single family private property, I actually expect it will.
As you can’t verify it at streetview, many people will consider it temporary
I don’t see a private property issue at all. This is a roadside verge, with a pavement, in-between a bus stop and a planter, with a hedge behind and no housing.
I do see an issue with it being seen as temporary though.
Im pretty sure it replaced the planter here 52.864788,-1.131910, it’s been there for around a year or so but im not too sure if it’s bolted into the ground or if its just left standing there
If it has replaced the planter, then provided you can definitely show this (e.g., a supporting photo includes the planter and the safe crossing point a few meters away), then it becomes less temporary. Still not a definite acceptance

Is there a back story to this planter that would help make it significant?
Ah, I was looking at the other side of the street, yes agree the side with the current planter should be okay
Kind of now that im searching it up, basically the cycling tour of britian came through the village in 2018 and I think they got this bike as a thing to make the event and village look unique to the many other towns and villages it went through locally, the bikes apparently yellow as its traditional colours for this event and i guess they’ve just found the bike recently in the back of the village hall etc and decided to out it out as its something unique. I think we all agree that it won’t be a great place to exercise or be social. So the question is, is it good enough to be seen as a place to explore.
I don’t think it is a slam dunk nomination. So it will very much depend on your local reviewers. It is certainly not a very bad nomination. So I would just try it.
To increase it’s chances, help reviewers out by providing a link to that newsletter, saying which page to look at, plus an image of that page with the relevant section highlighted (“Penny Farthing”).
If there is a new newsletter talking about its use as a planter here, that will help a lot. Again, give reviewers the link, the page and a highlighted image.
Use web submission which allows up to 5 supporting images.
Borderline, whatever you do, so do your best to increase its chances by doing all the legwork yourself and do not expect the reviewers to do the searching for you (lots of people make this mistake).
I think we do like things like this in villages in the UK if presented properly. So much will depend on what it actually looks like once there.
You are thinking of going there in order to submit 
- you have convinced yourself this is worthy of exploration, all you need to do is lay out the case so that it is good enough to be accepted.
I think ornamental planters can work, a nice sunny picture with the flowers in bloom should give it the best chance
I’ve had boat planters accepted before, in an area known for a historic mill, which seems a similar idea
