Dance school spot rejection

Hi everyone,
I need some help for this nomination, because i don’t understand why i got rejected.
This place is a dance school of the country and the building is used only for that. I’ve proved that (as you see in the third photo) with the street signboard so, why the rejection?
The position is correct, located on the building.

Hello and welcome,

I see a sign for the school in your supporting photo, and this may be what to use for your main photo, while still placing the pin on the actual building. If there is signage on the school building, you could use that as the main photo as well. Right now, the main photo doesn’t really represent that this is a dance school very well, which may be causing reviewers to see it as just a building and indistinct, so signage might be helpful in the main photo.

Thank you so much for replying, unfortunately there’s no signage in front the building.
So, ill follow your advice using the street signage as the main photo (luckily it’s near the building)

Again, thanks for the help

Oh, forgot to try and include the sign and building in the supporting photo, if you can.

Good luck!

I’m afraid some would consider that to be misplacement & misrepresentation of the location.

@11Dave97 welcome and sorry about the rejection. First, I’d like to ask if you checked that this is a location not primarily focused on children. There were prior clarifications against dance and other youth focused locations. It should be fine if it also offers adult lessons.

Otherwise, any place of fitness should be eligible, but some reviewers expect more. Is the location known for a specific dance style? Are regionally known professionals alumni or practitioners, here? Any news or local publicity articles you can include that do a decent job promoting the location?

Have you had the opportunity to check inside the building for better signage representing the business?

Hi, i’ve checked on them FB page and they every type of dances (i thought i was only of classic dance) like hip hop, classic and contemporary, they do private workshops with famous dance artists and free open days. The location is not focused on children but the opposite (they have like only 1 dance class for children over 10 y/o). For being more specific, they do contests around the italy.
For checking, i don’t think i can but im sure they do all activites in the second floor (99% it’ll be signages inside).

In conclusion: I’ll be more specific in the description next time i add this POI, thanks

I’ve done it many times, and I make sure to mention that the sign is for the building, and I put the pin on the building. Signfarer is not something most like, so I wouldn’t nominate something and use the sign as the main photo without showing where the building is and why the pin is placed where it was placed. Example below:

The pin is placed on the actual theatre building, but I used the signage for the main photo, as there is no signage on the theatre building. The theatre building is at 48.1066372420783, -98.86648766906261, while the sign is at 48.10587633212201, -98.8663770094689. This was approved by the community, and there was no confusion about the placement of the pin.

There are so many signs that have Wayspots that shouldn’t, so when someone does try to nominate or even move the location to what is accurate, it gets denied when there isn’t enough context provided, especially since Wayfarer hasn’t provided the best clarification on signs, and that will be my next AMA question.

I saw you raised that as the question - thanks. Not meaning to distract from this example for the OP or to challenge your narrative, but simply as I put “some would consider…“ For your example, I feel like I remember you having some issues with the process of handling it, unless I’m remembering a different theater, so I agree there’s potential to clean up some understanding.

For this thread, I simply want the best chance at the submission.

Another photo opportunity is using the building as the main photo and the support showing the sign & building - I’m sure I’ve done this but would be hard pressed for an example, and of course “first impressions…”

@11Dave97 I’m glad you found more information! I know I really enjoy learning more about local areas and by adding that information I feel like it helps showcase it to your local players. Good luck with the resubmission and feel free to post for more feedback and/or the outcome!

The theatre you are thinking of is a completely different one, in Fargo, ND, and it was back during the Edits Global Challenge, which happened almost a year ago. This one is in Devils Lake, ND, and I was surprised that it didn’t have a Wayspot, even though the McD’s across the street had a pretty active gym (I was lucky to get my full 50 coins there), so I submitted it last month. Completely different POIs in completely different locations.

@Gendgi Thanks, ill try today to resubmit it. I will post more things this week to understand every types of rejection because after 4 years of submitions, there’s something not clear on many of them.
