Did the Elite Raid Gym sync stop?

Ever since I started exploring and nominating for Pokéstops,
someone told me that the 25th of evey month was the date for eligible for normal Gym to VIP Gym upgrades. In my experience, It would get upgraded that month if possible, or every one to two months if not. The same thing happened even when the VIP Gyms were later changed to Elite Raid Gyms.

However, around the beginning of this year, updates for these gyms stopped.
I’ve tried seven or eight different locations that met the Elite Raid upgrade requirements, but none of them have been upgraded.
I’d like to ask:
Am I mistaken? Or is it because Elite Raids are so rare these days that no one else has noticed this?

Thank for replay if anyone knows.

I’ve seen reports on Reddit of a new Elite Raid Gym appearing this month, so syncs are definitely still happening.

I believe that a Pokéstop or Gym needs to have been in the game for a certain amount of time in order to be eligible to gain the Elite Raid tag when the syncs happen. I think that wayspots accepted after a certain date (sorry, but I don’t know what this date is) are not eligible to get the tag even if they’re in a park that is correctly tagged on OSM.

Are the wayspots that you expected to get the tag fairly new?

Yes, it became a gym at the beginning of this year.

What makes me think sync has stopped is that I’ve made three new gyms in a large riverside park. The other existing gyms just a few dozen meters away from these gyms are all VIP/Elite gyms, and the other four locations are all in the OSM parkland area and haven’t been upgraded…

Maybe I’m wrong

The elite raid tag is based on Open Street Maps coding at the center of the L20 S2 cell, and they use old data. I have one that just misses being eligible, even though it is in a park.

Ironically, it is the park sign. Someone had edited Open Street Maps to cut a corner at the entrance. It had previously been an ExRaid gym. The OSM edit has since been corrected to include the entire park, but we have to wait for Niantic/Scopely to do an OSM update for the correction to go through.

To be clear, someone did this correction for me. I can’t understand how to edit Open Street Maps.

Closing this as this is not Wayfarer related and thus not a Wayfarer bug.
