Disappearing pokestop

Yes I just took a photo of the new equipment and edited the stop pic whilst I was there

No worries, sorry it disappeared

You could probably get another route from Richard De Lucy through the park to the Community Centre as it looks like mostly green areas.

Then after this email the stop disappeared so I don’t understand. I’ll wait on niantic’s response.

It’s not long enough for a route but I can recreate the previous route from Richard De Lucy instead

It looks as if you edited the wayspot location (based on the wording of that email) - maybe at the same time you added the picture? So I think unfortunately it has been moved enough to disappear due to the cells.

Oh… That’s a location edit?

Photos say media submission like this

Ohh so if I go make the stop from the other side of the park it should be accepted? I took the photo from the wrong side obviously :joy:

Wow, all I literally did was click on the photo and selected edit

I mean add photo, not edit! The original was still there

I am not sure what you can do. You cant fix it in PoGo since it has vanished from that map. If you submitted it again, it would go as a duplicate, presumably in the same place as it is right now. We cant appeal accepted edits either to say they were a mistake.

Maybe a local ingress player could help you move it back, if they can see it?

It would be marked as duplicate as it’s still in the database just not in game.

Maybe get a nice walk around the park route though?

Oh ok, it’s not showing on ingress either coz I checked there too

The only thing I can think of is maybe there is something else close by that you could add to the game? Then it wouldnt be a duplicate and you could have a new stop, not in the same place but at least in the same area?

Alternatively maybe one of the staff here could help you if there is a way to undo the edit mistake and restore it to the original location, if that is possible? (I dont know if it is). Presumably this original location is accurate and the new location is less accurate since it wasnt an intentional edit?

Would the coordinates depend on where the original photo was taken from? So if I was to stand maybe 20ish metres back towards the field and face the park that way I could remake a stop without it being in the same cell?

I think that may have been the cause of the unintentional location edit. You were clicking through and it took the location as where you were standing.

You cant really “re make” it because it still exists, its just gone invisible for you but its still there in the overall database.

Ohh, is there any way to undo the edit?

That’s p00p! Thanks for all your help guys, I’ll just blame my friend who thinks he caused it by spamming gold lures on it :joy:

Tell him he should gift you a Go Fest ticket to make up for it :innocent:
