because they simply don’t train their appeal reviewers and those folks approve all kinds of ineligible things and make up reasons to reject perfectly eligible ones. you can see posts complaining about both ends of this going back long before the beginning of this forum.
simply put, what niantic approves != what is eligible.
@NianticAtlas I recently reported a park where there are 21 way spots that are disc golf holes or signs for the disc golf course. I found these while reviewing so I reported them through the report abuse page from this site.
After about a week, today, I received an email just saying that Niantic has taken action on these sites. But when I go back to all of them are still there.
My question is, should we be reporting these, and if we report them, should we expect them to be removed? Thanks for any clarification you can offer.
OK, so it’s now been 9 days since I received the response email that says “ We have made the necessary changes to the Wayspots in accordance with our policies and you should see these changes reflected soon.”
However, every single one of the 20+ disc golf hole way spots remain in the database.
So, @NianticLC , should we be reporting these and if so, should we expect that they be removed?
The address of the park with all the wayspots is 2006 Jones Dr, Emporia, KS 66801, USA.
It’s fine either way, but guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately they were identified during reviewing. I don’t know if they showed in any game, just that every disc golf hole on the course was a wayspot.
Good idea. Three of them are still listed as gyms in the park. I know Campfire is slower to sync than the games but since it’s been about 10 days, I can only assume they are all still there. I am really more curious than anything because the actions by Niantic on these disc golf holes seemed fairly consistent before this.
Considering my recent experience with reporting via Abuse, I feel like they have some new staff processing reviews and perhaps not trained as well as they could be.
