I have always understood that golf tee boxes, and hole markers, have been a no go interfereing with play of these games. Which I have always seen as a good thing. I play golf and don’t need somone or a group of somones crowding around watching my horrible swing while trying to battle a Pokémon in a gym.
With that being said, a few PoI have appeared near me on golf courses. In the past I have had no issues submitting them for removal due to “pedestrian access” issues and they have been removed. This last batch I have now had denied twice for removal. Even using the supporting information box stating that they are on a golf course and should not have been accepted in the first place.
Has Niantic changed their mind about tee boxes on golf courses, or have they just changed thier mind about removing them?
I have good results when I either submit these via the “Report Abuse” form or when I appeal rejected in game reports like this one:
I have noticed that the answer is worded carefully
But the portals are definitely being removed when I do this.
I don’t think their stance has changed, but it feels like different teams look at the in game reports, and I expect those to be rejected and have to be appealed. I only do the in game ones when I don’t have time to write up a report.
The inconsistency-filled Niantic Wayfarer is nothing new, and all ineligible wayspots admitted by Wayfinder, which does not care about ineligible POIs, are left in the field with one word: “not in the removal criteria”.
And further slammed by Emily who has learned of such low quality reviews.
Normally, the Wayfarer team would manage to prevent such things from happening, but unfortunately, the current Wayfarer team does not care about abuse.
Because the Wayfarer team staff themselves continue the abuse of importing low quality databases, including Foursquare, and if they are ineligible, they will be the first to be banned from Wayfarer. LOL!
