Nope. 18 holes on a golf course represents 1 entire game. 1 court represents 1 game. 1 court = 18 golf holes.
Yes, I would tell my friend, “I reserved Court 2. I will meet you there. If someone is using Court 2, we will ask them to move since I reserved it.”
But that is assuming that everyone will do a full 18 holes at golf, it is common to do a shorter “9 Holes”. Lots of courses will be planned where the 9th will finish back near the clubhouse with the 10th heading away again for this reason.
Not played tennis since school days but when booking other sports it’s not usual to book a specific court / field. You would meet at the building then they would say that “Court X” is available and that is the one you would take. Definitely how it worked with 5 a side football.
That’s still assigning you to ONE specific place to play the sport. You don’t start on Court 1 and move to Court 2 to complete a single game. Same with football. You play an entire game on 1 field.
The public golf course I played on when I was a kid had 3 distinct sets of 9 holes - each course had a name. If you wanted to play 18 holes, you had to tell them which courses and in which order you would play them. In that case, I absolutely would have advocated for 3 separate wayspots - 1 at each Hole 1. (Unrelated, back in those days, I could carry my clubs for 9 holes and only pay $2.25. Good times.)
Also to support this statement, a football field can be either a 5 man, 7 man, 9 man or 11 man depend on the size. Same with tennis, you can play either single or double. There are various rule to both sports that i think it is justified to have seperate wayspots.
Golf course is you play from first to end, and I supposed there is no other rule to bend around it. Unless you have different distinct sets of golf course as they said then it is only fair they have different wayspots to be honest.
I would agree with different size football pitches for different variations of the game (it seems to be full size 11 man or smaller <11 man for all the others round here). Just checked maps to confirm, the local (not full size) place has 5 pitches, obviously with the style of play all are separated by a fence, there is also a path splitting it into 3 an 2 but I would say this is still 1 poi.
Singles and Doubles tennis are played on the same courts.
I mentioned Golf as this is the one that is regularly mentioned for people trying to nominate all the holes but I used to Caddy when I was a youth, colleague plays regular even after work, as evenings get shorter they will drop to 9 holes, usually called Front 9 and Back 9. Some tournaments will play 9 holes on the 1st round to drop the numbers.
Some snooker halls will have more than 1 room, maybe even single table rooms for more professional training. Still 1 snooker hall.

Make of this what you want. In Australia you will see court 1 court 2 court 3 etc all as waypoints. So unfortunately in game it is easy to see many examples to confuse you.
In the UK and Australia. Multisport fields exist. So for the same field you will get a successful football, cricket, union (select your sport) nomination. One for each game played for that season. One field multiple sports = multiple noms
Even the tennis court that is a netball court that is a tennis court that is a 5 a side football court is successfully nominated for all the sports played. You just take a photo of what ever hoop/net of each sport. Even though the criteria appear to say each distinct field. It is why I keep asking for the nomination option multisports field (totally different subject).
My point is. What are in the games does not help people newly nominating as a precedent appears set – but the rules clearly state

I thought that Aaron’s answer to the specific quote from Meargle he replied to meant that “Tennis Court 1” is already in the system. I wish we had a map that we could check. I hope the op will show us the existing Wayspots in the nomination map screen so this can be settled.

If the field includes multiple distinct sports pitches such as Cricket, Football and Rugby then each sport should be eligible.
If the same sports field has 4 x Football, 4 x Rugby, 2 x Cricket. I would class that as 3 eligible, 1 for each sport. The obvious confusion is using “field”. Is it a field with 4 pitches or a field with 4 football fields.
It’s obvious that it can be read in different ways so personal opinion is 4 tennis courts however they are laid out is 1 tennis club.
The thing is the word distinct. My issue is that it is often the same pitch/court used for many sports and each nomination is for each of the sportts (A single multisport field/court/pitch) - that is same playing area distinct sports.
Just that the nomination/wayspot will be for each sport with a photo of the goal mouth, league posts, cricket field etc etc. So you have three successful noms for the one distinct field. It is a multisport playing pitch/field.
This aerial sums up. Netball courts. Now six of them as dual netball and basketball.
The football field is also a multiple 5 a side field. And is also a League field.
With the Tennis. Most are grass. But two tennis courts are hard courts which are also netball courts
So reading the criteria. Is it?
One for grass tennis. One for Hard court Tennis. One for netball on hard court tennis. One for a dual court tennis/netball.
Netball courts is three. One for netball only. One for basketball. One for dual court.
Four for the large all surface playing area - one for league. one for football, one for the 5 a side. and one for a multisport field

I would settle on 5. One grass tennis. One dual court for tennis netball. One for netball. One for dual courts netball/basketball. And one for the large field.
that means for the nomination above. The four hard surfaces for tennis are one nomination. BUT
PS I saw a similar place where I was asked to review a nomination for each of the playing surfaces. At one sport centre is was 20 odd netball courts - so twenty nominations for each court.

A multi sport area should only count as 1.
To return to the OP, if for example the grass tennis courts where split with 5 grass courts then the 2 hard surface then the rest of the grass courts I would count all the grass courts as 1 but would allow the hard surface courts as another POI.
I apparently did miss there being a wayspot on the map there when I nominated these, as someone else in the community went to check. It’s strange because I didn’t see it when I nominated either court when I went, but I may have just overlooked it.
I guess that’s just yet another reason a comprehensive Wayspot map ought to be a thing, huh.
I have to say - I have a local set of courts
8 courts in a line. I nominated the side of the middle courts (between 4 and 5) as the nomination for the set.
And today it remains as one nomination for the whole tennis centre at the park.
Taking the same principle as the nomination. One nomination for these courts sounds right
All other attempts to created nominations for any other courts at this spot have been duplicates.
On a different day I am sure it could have been different

@SlimboyFat71 re my post on the courts / multisport areas. The tennis courts have at least three current waypoints I can see in game. One for Grass. One for the hard courts and one for courts 6 and 7 or something. So similar to the OP question. As I say above on any given day. Expect difference
