My church runs a fair(we call it a Bazaar but it’s the same thing) it’s on about half to three quarters of an acre. Once a year for a week rides and games fill the space. Outside of that it’s used for the occasional flag football or for people to walk around. The area is always referred to as the fairgrounds by the community. I’m just wondering does it have to be a permanent use to get approved? Should my photo include what it looks like with the rides/games? Just wondering if this is something that could get approved thanks.
Good day and welcome!
Permanence of the point of interest is part of the acceptance criteria:
Must be a permanent physical, tangible, and identifiable place or object, or object that placemarks an area
A clear and established outdoor recreational sites have been clarified as acceptable — needing a visual focal point if an artificial sign is not present. That is the rec area itself is being submitted and is permanent.
However, the actual review process may prove difficult for these types of nominations. The decision may hinge with the proof you can add in the supporting details that it is really what you claim it is.
You can put a mock up of the submission here if you want.
Yeah I thought the “permanent” part would be an issue I can Mock something up but I don’t have a photo of the area in use which might make it harder like you said to get it approved.
