Fake wayspots in Scunthorpe again

Unfortunately, the Scunthorpe abuse is happening again. I got a submission roughly in the 53.539596,-0.581294 (GCQ8+VJ Scunthorpe, UK) area which looked dodgy, a look at the nearby wayspots in the map revealed several obvious fakes.

This was the submission:

I found this was stolen from 53.383232,-1.491391 in Sheffield..

Here’s is another one nearby which will also be fake..

Looking around, there are several others.

I don’t know exactly where this is from, but the signs say “Leicestershire County Council” which is quite a distance from Scunthorpe, so fake.

The sign clearly says “Kielder” on it which is further north and not near Scunthorpe. This is the original at 55.304282,-2.344358

This is not far from Plymouth but a long way from Scunthorpe at 50.39718,-3.920952

Pretty sure I’ve seen this before. There’s no road in this location, so the photograph is impossible.

@NianticAaron or others in the Wayfarer team, this not only indicates someone making rogue submissions but also the existence of a voting ring.

Other wayfarers in the UK, if you see any submissions in the Scunthorpe area please check them carefully and also have a look at the surround wayspots.

I scouted the area and couldn’t see any new fake wayspots that had been approved, but this was a very serious level of abuse last time that led to dozens of fakes.
