Recently I’ve been building the PoGo community around me. What I have noticed is most fire stations/police stations have been made into gyms. I’m nominating Bloomfield Police Department/MVD to be a gym location. 711 Ruth Ln, Bloomfield, NM 87413 Is the physical address.
Do not use existing locations in game as a complete guide to what is eligible to become a wayspot. Also points of interest are ineligible if the location obstructs the operation of emergency services.
You can’t nominate a wayspot to specifically become a gym. It is up to each individual game to detemine whether it uses a wayspot in the first place and if so, how it is treated.
Remember the way spot eligibility criteria. A nomination must be a great place to explore, to exercise, or to gather socially. A police station does not obviously meet any of those criteria.
For more information, be sure to review what makes a great way spot nomination.

Hello and welcome @KayTo
If you use a game as your guide as to how you might get more in game content then it won’t work.
Start again and read about Wayfarer.

You nominate places that are either great to
Socialise
Explore
Exercise
These are the base criteria and a police station doesn’t do any of those things.
You nominate a potential wayspot through the game (settings >upload)
You need your own photos and text.
If approved it becomes wayspot.
Pokémon Go can then either decide to include it in the game or ignore it.
If selected for the game there are specific rules as to whether it becomes a gym.

Hello and welcome,
I’d like to add, from the help center, that police and fire stations usually do not meet criteria as they may obstruct emergency services, which make them ineligible locations. This is listed in the Rejection Criteria section.
- Location obstructs the driveways of emergency services or may interfere with the operations of fire stations, police stations, hospitals, military bases, industrial sites, power plants, or air traffic control towers
If you are seeing other police and fire stations with Wayspots, I would request that they be removed for obstructing emergency services. I recently requested removal of 2 Wayspots at fire stations in my city, and they were removed. More info on how to request removal can be found here:
Lastly, it’s best to review all of the Wayspot criteria, to get a good idea of what is and isn’t eligible. That info can be found below:
