Hello all, the game just got released in Saudi Arabia and the community is very small since there is almost no pokestops. Would appreciate anyone that can change their bonus location to Jeddah - Saudi arabia.
Common things that you will see are coffee locations and mosques and manarat( a tall tower usually built next to mosques) sadly a lot of general businesses.
Any support and help would be appreciated <3
Hello! I want to ask how is possible to consider the minaret different from the mosque? I understand it would be the same as a Church and the Bell tower, would they be duplicates?
As someone new to this i have seen sometimes waypoints for both. Not sure if it is duplicates or not. I myself have been approving them if there is no waypoint for the mosque close to it. If someone knows more would love to know
Personally I would consider them as duplicates unless there is something that makes the minaret unique. If there is no wayspot for the mosque I feel is more interesting to submit the mosque instead of the minaret. I would love to hear the opinion of other people that can know more than me about this.
I think it would be useful to see some examples.
If looks like the port/harbour has a lot of Wayspots around it but it seems there’s also plenty of scope to add new things nearby possibly?
Will I have things to review if I change my bonus location?
From my experiance, for the past 3 days I did 573 nomination and I believe I did them all. Since today in the morning website stopped showing me reviews.

I read something about it, it seems like its gonna open in Riyadh first?
I dont know the history, but has the game been out for any time in the past? Is anybody level 37? If not, try contacting someone in Niantic’s other game, Ingress, to see if anybody over L10 can submit nominations to help out others.

If you want people abroad to review the nominations accurately, writing the supporting text in english could greatly help.
I am looking at Jeddah on intel map, and WOW there is so much potential. I will try to help you find possible candidates if thats okay.

Yah I am level 37, used to play it when i lived in the uk for 4 years XD. Lucky for me I got a small head start. I have been going around my area and surprisingly i have been seeing a lot more stuff that I should nominate. My area jumped from 1 pokestop 10 mins away from me to a solid 5 pokestop and a gym around 10-15mins away

this is my main area of play, I have been trying to submit some waypoints in the walkway and some mosques that are on my way when i walk to the walkway. not sure what else around me is god for pokestop. I do not think the street view for KSA is that good but i appreciate the help

I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the Lightship database, which can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. I saw you were running low on nominations, so wanted to be sure you could prioritize things that will show in Pokemon Go for now. The other Wayspots could become Powerspots, so they can be useful for PoGo, too.
Also, wanted to make sure you know to turn on the toggle in the nomination map screen to check for Wayspots that have already been accepted that don’t show in PoGo.

We talked about minarets as separate POI a few weeks ago in a different topic. My research led me to understand that almost all mosques will have minarets of some kind. I would only accept a minaret (or a set of minarets as a single wayspot) if there was some discussion of this particular example being architecturally significant.
