How do I get guaranteed Pokestops

I know how the system works but a lot of the things I submit end up not beeing in game as a Pokestop even tho they got approved.

Anyone got some tips?

Thank you

Welcome to the forum! Glad you are having some success getting nominations accepted!

I have this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question:

I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. (The S2 cell use has not been officially confirmed to my knowledge, but staff has acknowledged there is an additional step.) This is a good article about S2 cells and how they have been observed to be used in PoGo: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

(Eligible Wayspots are added to Pokemon Go in a sync that happens once a day normally. If it has not been more than 48 hours since it was accepted, it could just be that it has not synced in yet.)

Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. The schedule for syncing in new Power Spots is not on a daily basis. The last few syncs have been on the 4th of the month.

If you would like to leave the title and location, someone here with access to external resources may be able to confirm if there is indeed an issue with the S2 cells. But since the sale to Scopely has affected these Niantic (now NianticSpatial) maps being updated, it may be more difficult. The gps coordinates where you pinned the Wayspot will be after the second photo in the email you received when you submitted the nomination, but the pin may have been moved in voting. Do be aware this is a public forum if you would rather not reveal your location. I realize this is a lot of information to dump on someone, so please ask if you have more questions.

Thank you for the response it is indeed a lot of information! Is there any way to check the cell thing for my location specifically?

As an example this is a pokestop submission I made which is not live in game: BĂĽcherzelle 48.242823, 14.240729

We don’t have an accurate map to check cells currently. since Ingress split from Wayfarer officially on May 23rd this year. However, I do see that there is a Pasching Fountain in this cell before the split from Ingress, so I’m thinking it’s the stop for this cell.

The pin is the lat/long you provided, whereas the fountain is a little northwest at 48.243025,14.240457.

One thing you can do is go to this location and check the nomination map in PoGo. If it has an orange exclamation point, it’s a Wayspot that can’t appear as a stop/gym, or one that is used in other games. There is a toggle in the bottom left of the map to turn Wayspots on and off, so make sure it’s on to show all Wayspots. You can then click on the Wayspots to try and locate your accepted Wayspot.

Thank you very much for your response! The red thing on your screenshot is the Stop i was talking about. It got declined but niantic accepted it later. What does the red symbol mean ?
Thank you!

This is the Ingress Intel map, which no longer syncs with the Wayfarer map. The pin is the lat/long you provided, and the red dot to the northwest or upper left of the pin is the Wayspot for the fountain.
