Missing accepted pokestop

so i have sent 2 pokestops, where one of them got accepted and the other one did not, totaly acceptible but im already waiting for like 2 weeks and it did not show up in the game and we dont have any other elligeble pokestop material in the area

I have this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question:

I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. (The S2 cell use has not been officially confirmed to my knowledge, but staff has acknowledged there is an additional step.) This is a good article about S2 cells and how they have been observed to be used in PoGo: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
(Eligible Wayspots are added to Pokemon Go in a sync that happens once a day normally. If it has not been more than 48 hours since it was accepted, it could just be that it has not synced in yet.)

Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. We explorers haven’t figured out the schedule for syncing in new Power Spots, but it is not on a daily basis at this time.

If you would like to leave the title and location, someone here with access to external resources may be able to confirm if there is indeed an issue with the S2 cells. But since the sale to Scopely has affected these Niantic (now NianticSpatial) maps being updated, it may be more difficult. The gps coordinates where you pinned the Wayspot will be after the second photo in the email you received when you submitted the nomination, but the pin may have been moved in voting.

Do be aware this is a public forum if you would rather not reveal your location. I realize this is a lot of information to dump on someone, so please ask if you have more questions. Thanks @Cyndiepooh.

hi i have read a bit but still dont understand why that would affect my nomination

If you share the coordinate we might be able to check. But since ingress and pogo split, the map is no longer 100% accurate

Long short story, only 1 wayspot in same cell can become pokestop/gym. So if there is multiple wayspot that you submit, but its within same cell with another wayspot, it wont appear

Could you please provide the coordinates, this way we can show with a image.

how do i check the coordinates?

The coordinates are in the THANKS email you should have received when you submitted the request, the coordinates are located at the bottom of the Email.

You can see from submitted email

(51.628166, 5.556599)

There is already a wayspot called: Playground Patrijsdonk in the cell you submitted your wayspot request. Because only 1 wayspot is allowed to be a pokestop/gym in a cell your wayspot cannot be a pokestop/gym

(The red pin is your wayspot request)

but there is a spot like 20 meters to the south west where 4 pokestops are near each other to

Sponsored pokestops/gyms don’t follow this rule.

Sponsored pokestops/gyms are spots that a company pays for to be placed in pokemon Go to advertise their business.

The other reason is with this image:

As you can see there is 3 pokestops really close to each other here, but they are still placed in different cells.

Do note: Changing the location of a wayspot request just so it appears in Pokemon Go is considered abuse

If you need more explaination please ask.
(You can use your own language on the forums if you want, we have a build-in translator here)

how can i check the s2 cell thing for myself

We use a map called IITC, but this map is getting outdated since the split with Ingress. So even if it looks like a cell is empty it might not be, because the map hasn’t been updated since the 27th of May.

Other users on the forums might give a link or detailed explaination since unfortunately im not an expert with this specific tool.

If you want to bother to install iitc at this point, which is a map that displays Ingress portals, be aware that it will not show new Wayspots and hasn’t since May. If you google “pogotools”, the readme for that will explain how to install. I am not allowed to directly share a link to something you install per forum rules, but the link you want is this one:

Again, this will be less and less accurate for where Wayspots are located as time goes on, but the cell lines will be correct. There is a function that allows you to manually add in Pokestops that aren’t shown there.
