Hi guys, I’m not sure if this is the correct topic to post this under, if not please move it to the correct one. I reported a obviously fake wayspot I saw while reviewing submissions on Wayfarer a while ago, but the team decided not to remove it because I didn’t provide enough evidence. I don’t live close enough to go and take geotagged photos so I wanted to see if there was another option.
It is a fake nomination of a Stolperstein, a memorial project marking the residences of people who died to the N*zi regime, so there are a lot of them in Germany and other parts of Central Europe. While they commonly get faked on Wayfarer because not everyone goes the extra mile to check if the Stolperstein is in the spot the submission claims it is, this is the fakest one I’ve seen so far.
This is important to me since I find it incredibly disrespectful to actual Hlocaust victims to fake having a Stolperstein in order to get a Pokestop in front of your house. The nomination is obviously fake, the photo is clearly photoshopped and it makes no sense for a person on a Stolperstein to be born in 1966 when the Nzi regime had ended by then.

Additionally, Stolpersteine have an extremely uniform look since they are all made by the same artist – same font, all caps letters for the name etc. which does not fit the Wayspot

Der schnellste Weg diesen geschmacklosen fake wayspot loszuwerden ist den helpchat einzuschalten. Für fakes sind sie durchaus zuständig.
Es sei denn @NianticAaron liest zufällig mit und ist noch schneller.

Den helpchat erreichst du über wayfarer Menü → Hilfe → orange Blase. Das ist ein Chat aus dem aber keine Emails rauskommen. Man muss auch immer ein bisschen vorsichtig sein mit den eigenen Browsersettings, damit der Chatverlauf nicht plötzlich gelöscht ist. Also immer die Ticketnummer notieren und regelmäßig vorbeischauen, ob eine Antwort gegeben wurde.
Jetzt hast du aber ja schon erfolglos reported, sodass du hier in Wayspot Appeals genau richtig bist und einen Einspruch darauf einlegst.
Unglaublich, dass das nicht sofort akzeptiert wurde. Würde mich gar nicht wundern wenn das noch zusätzlich ein miserabler Scherz über einen Nachbarn wäre.
Ich weiß nicht wie das bei Wayfarer funktioniert, haben die Mitarbeitende aus Deutschland/ Mitteleuropa die diese Stolpersteine kennen? Weil falls es halt z.B nur Leute aus den USA sind würde ich schon verstehen, wenn sie nicht so gut einschätzen können, ob das jetzt fake ist oder nicht.
Aber meinst du, ich soll es jetzt einfach bei diesem Thread belassen und hoffen, dass sich das jemand der zuständig ist nochmals anschaut?
Generell ist das Missbrauchspotenzial von Reports so hoch, dass die meisten Meldungen ohne zusätzliche Informationen erstmal abgelehnt werden. Wenn du die Links hinzugefügst, sollte das reichen.

Kannst du auch den Standort des Fakes teilen? Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass ich das vor ein paar Wochen bereits gemeldet und gelöscht bekommen hatte, das scheint neu zu sein
Ist auch schon über eine Woche her, dass ich das eingereicht hatte, es könnte sein, dass du es auch schon gesehen hast. Ich hab leider keine Methode das nochmal nachzuschauen, nur eben die Email, dass sie es vorest nicht entfernen.
