How long will it take to get one PokeStop into the game?

Hey,
I submitted some PokeStops and noticed there is no order for the reviewing-stage. Is there any order or is there something else.

Thanks a lot!
Greetings

It will depend on a number of factors. If your nominations are still in the queue for reviewing, it can take at least 24 hours to a few weeks before it gets reviewed. It may take longer, but it will depend on if there are any reviewers covering your area, etc.

Alright. A few of my submissions were rejected, but after I appealed, they were eventually accepted. Meanwhile, the other waypoints remained stuck in the queue, completely unreviewed, even while other submissions of mine, which I had submitted significantly later, were rejected, then reviewed again, and finally accepted.

I think there is a pattern behind how the nominations are selected, but sadly it’s one of those patterns that goes over my head.

Ah okay  Thanks a lot, I will just wait then - Thats the best option I think

Where your nominations close to one another?

It has been noticed that when they are only 1 goes in to voting the others stay “On Hold” which can delay the process but stops the possibility of Duplicates all been voted through.

Yes, somewhat. But my first PokéStop is in the queue, and the second one was rejected; I appealed the decision, and then it was accepted. The first one remains in the queue for now.

“In Queue” means that it is being sent to players to vote on.

This can be slow if…

  • The number or Reviewers in your area is low.
  • The nomination is not an easy Yes or No so many reviewers are deciding to “Skip”.

There does seem to be a process where ones stuck at this point do get brought in to “Staff Review” but I believe this is after about 3 months.

Are you aware how long it has been “In Queue” (not since nominated) ?

Good luck

ps: Forgot to add “Hello and Welcome” to my 1st reply…

Hey, yeah - no worries about the “Hello and Welcome” ^^ - its a nice chat here  Its not that long in “In Queue” but I just wondered, how a later inserted request is faster done than the other one, but I think, as you said, its about the reviewers number in my area and the difficulty to set Yes/No.
Thanks a lot

PS: Just a quick one. I got one accepted but its not in the game right now. On the Wayfarer Map it says “Not in the Game” or something like that - but its in one L17 cell with no other PokeStops. I heared something about a sync. When will be the next sync- Niantic said something about 48h(?). Thanks a lot.

For future reference you can always post in “Nomination Support” any that you are considering (I would suggest using different photos, they should be classed as 3rd party if only found here but better safe than sorry).

People will advice whether it is Good to Go, Needs Work, May be Difficult or a Definite No.

Alternatively make a post giving a location (use something broad such as a crossroads, town centre etc. NEVER your home address) and people will make suggestions…

Todays “should” have happened about an hour ago. Occasionally they do miss a sync.

When was it accepted? There is a cut off time for example something accepted just a couple of hours before the next sync will not be included and will have to wait until the following day.

Please Note: There are a couple of reasons that nominations that look like they should appear don’t such as “Property Owner Request” but we will worry about that if it happens…

It was accepted today (29.5.26) at 11:59 MESZ, so 9:59 UTC.

I would have expected it to have synced but…

The Map has 2 Syncs.

  • The first is when it updates from the database.
  • The Second is when Pokemon Go updates it to show what the wayspot is going to be used as (Stop / Gym etc).

There is a delay between the 2 of them.

Is it possible to go there and check “In Game” otherwise give it 24 hours and everything should have caught up.

Okay, thanks a lot.
Sorry if I ask a lot in this one post.
Is it still true that likes in Ingress can influence which PokéStop becomes a Gym?

I heard that the most liked portal/photo sometimes becomes the Gym, together with the normal cell rules like:

  • 2 stops = 1 Gym
  • 6 stops = 2 Gyms
  • etc.

Does this still work today or is it just an old myth now and its random?

Ingress and Pokemon Go (including Wayfarer) are now owned by different companies.

Gym creation does now seem to be at least largely random.

Old Image votes (including pre split Ingress) are still used to decide which image is used.

Correct more correctly (so not to confuse “Stops” and “Pokestops”…

  • 2 Wayspots = 1 Pokestop + 1 Gym
  • 6 Wayspots = 4 Pokestops + 2 Gyms
  • 20 Wayspots = 17 Pokestops + 3 Gyms.

No problem, better to ask questions here where our answers are moderated by Ambassadors and Staff instead of listening to what is said elsewhere. The number of times we see “That’s wrong, it says on Reddit / X / Facebook…”

Thanks a lot, really :slightly_smiling_face:
I really appreciate the corrections and answers ^^
Wishing you all the best!
