I feel like something needs to be done about the submission limit

Whenever there’s been a big Pokemon GO event lately, I’ve gone out and submitted lots of trail markers, but the submission limit and slow refill rate is really hindering me. I used up all my submissions during the Wild Area event, and again during the Community Day last weekend. But thanks to the slow refill rate of 1 submission per day, I was only able to submit 20-ish new trail markers last weekend, which meant I was pretty much done submitting well before the end of my planned route. And now I am going to have to wait another 40 days before I can go out and submit a worthwhile number of trail markers again.

Back when Ingress still mattered, I could at least use my Ingress account for another 40 submissions. I feel the least that could be done is increasing the submission limit to 80 and upping the refresh rate.

I guess the limit is in place to prevent people from flooding the system with bad submissions, which has some validity, but I feel that the limits could definitely be loosened up for established wayfarers that have proven they can handle it.

exactly. The current system allows me to stay home for weeks without having anything wayfarer related on my mind: because i know that if i go out every other day and take photos of the things i want to submit - i would never be able to submit ALL the things i could submit.

And also yes, the missing Ingress submissions are hurting deeply. The limit needs to be there, but i guess a seasoned (well seasoned) wayfarer would be a person that deserves more than 1 a day.

The limit is also not a great incentive to submit things that won’t result in a new Pokestop. I ignored dozens of trail markers that were in a cell with an already-existing Pokestop or gym because I don’t want to waste one of my valuable few submission opportunities on a Power Spot or nothing at all. If the limit were much laxer, I’d be more inclined to submit those as well.

Perhaps they could let you bank submissions when you are at 0. They would just be held until you gained another submission, then they would be sent into the normal submission queue. It wouldn’t help people who submit 365 points a year but it would help people who submit in large quantities when they are in a new area (which they oftentimes won’t go back to).

What the power users need is to be able to turn upgrades into submissions.

Aren’t the web submission ones separate from the in-app ones? Would give you more

No.
there is only one set of nomination slots no matter the method of submission.

As someone who started Wayfarer way back in 2019, the ability to have 40 nominations available, with 1 daily accrual if availability allows is a far cry from where things used to be. Back then the limit was 7 nominations, that each would reset after 14 days. When you look at the past, what we have today is far more generous.

Just because it was way worse in the distant past doesn’t mean there isn’t major room for improvement in the present. Especially considering we’ve essentially gone from 80 submissions max to 40 submissions max if you had eligible accounts in both Ingress and Pokemon Go.
