I’ve seen plenty of restaurants be PokéStops, so I’m unsure why the most popular one in my town was immediately denied for not meeting criteria, but with no further explanation.

Description: Niemerg’s is a locally owned restaurant that is loved and frequented by many. They’ve been open since 1978 and have been a staple in Effingham for decades. A family-friendly restaurant with attentive staff and great meals, a perfect place for any meal of the day.
Supplemental Information (why I think it should be a PokéStop): I believe Niemerg’s should become a PokéStop because it is a very popular destination and would be utilized by many Trainers. In addition to being in the heart of the town, it is also a splendid place to eat with friends and family.

It seems that ML, the AI system, rejected this, and we really won’t be told as to why, but there are some things that could be changed.
First, “A Local Favorite” isn’t needed in the title, as that’s not part of the restaurant’s name. Accuracy is very important with Wayfarer, so just keep the title to the actual restaurant name. Google Maps has this titled “Niemerg’s Steakhouse,” so that would most likely be a better choice to go with.
Second, your main photo isn’t the best, due to the sun rays coming through and causing some glare. I see that there may be a sign at the front entrance to the restaurant, so that may work better as a place marker than the sign by the side of the road. Putting the pin at the entrance would also be a good place, if you previously put it at the street sign and not the actual restaurant.
Third, you mentioned “Trainers” in your supporting info, and this could be seen as trying to influence reviewers by using game-centric terms. While they typically aren’t seen as a big issue in the supporting info, it’s best to not use anu game terms wen submitting nominations. Wayfarer is the database map that all Scopely games use to determine game play locations, based off of each game’s inclusion rules, so it’s not just used for PoGo.
Lastly, include the link for the restaurant in the supporting info, as this may help show that it’s a popular place with locals, that it is family friendly, and give reviewers an idea of what food they serve and what may be their specialty dishes. Thank you, this is all much more helpful than the automated message. Do you think it would be beneficial to mention that the restaurant is located right near an exit for a major interstate? It’s one of the reasons it’s so popular for travelers, since the interstate is right there and there’s lots of hotels right nearby as well.
I’ll definitely take better photos and rewrite the descriptions based on your thorough feedback!
