Since the new witchhunt in the Netherlands (vs cycling and hiking trail markers) I decided to try and avoid any bans/warnings for my kids. I don’t care if I get any bans myself because I quit playing both Ingress and Pokemon Go after Niantic decimated several forest hiking trails last year. I requested the abuse team to review a list we compiled of our trail marker submissions. This wayspot got removed while it clearly contained a marker of the named cycling trail “Maasroute”.
Frankly, I don’t care if this wayspot gets restored since we don’t live in this area and we stopped helping smaller communities by wayfaring for them.
Yeah, this nonsense pisses me off too. They might as well remove trail markers from the list of eligible things since they’re treating them as if they aren’t even remotely eligible.
I have to say the submission made me giggle. A cycling trail directional sign above a large sign that says no bikes allowed. You gotta see the humor in that.
Since we have so much cycling infrastructure you might not be used to the blue signage for cyclists, but they never indicate bikes are not allowed. Let me clear up any confusion your post creates by linking this: Traffic signs - Cycling In Wageningen
Thanks, really no need to get into a long explanation. The sign means no bikes allowed in most places.
The red circle with the line through it universally means not allowed and the thing that’s not allowed is in the picture underneath the red line. It might mean something different where you are, but that wasn’t really the point. It was just the juxtaposition of the two signs that was funny.
Looks like we do since you are creating unwanted confusion with your post. The sign doesn’t indicate that in most places, since nearly everywhere around the world they use a red stroked-through circle on a white background.
