This was the original entrance to a local train station and is now a rest room for the train drivers. The station entrance had moved to a new location. Question is… Is it worth nominating this as the original entrance or not worth the effort? I may be able to dig up the description from the research, but want to see the consensus.
Without knowing the background/history then don’t know. Looks good enough to be something worth nominating. I would do the research on the building etc etc…
As the original entrance I would hazard you would need some good evidence as in of itself I cannnot tell what makes it worthy…
Where is it? Maybe we can help… I did say maybe
As someone who likes everything railway……it sounds as though it has potential.
Go get digging for the background information……where was the actual entrance?
I’ll have to find the information again regarding the original entrance. I had it yesterday, but can’t remember the search pattern I used to come across it.
The location of the original station entrance is on South Hill Avenue in South Harrow (Google Maps), which is near where the sidling is located.
The one source I have found (South Harrow tube station | UK Transport Wiki | Fandom) which mentions it, but am going to try and dig more into it and see if I can find something more conclusive. The entrance (or at least the original entrance) dates back to the early 1900’s.
I am going to pray and hope I have done enough for this one.
I feel the Description is a bit weak, but hope it’s enough.
Not a huge fan of original entrance - personal preference
But struggling to find a neat alternative.
Presumably this is the original station building rather than just the entrance?
Fair comment. I had brain fog when I wrote the title.
Old South Harrow Station?
Whatever you call it, I like it
Can’t really call it Old South Harrow Station as it could be seen as the station isn’t located there any more. I changed it to South Harrow Station Original Building
This building opened in June 1903 as the station for South Harrow for the Metropolitan DistrictRailway. This was the terminus for the new electric powered overground service. In 1933 it changed to become the terminus of the newly extended Piccadilly line. 2 years later a new station building opened and this ceased to be used by passengers.
Adapt and amend as necessary
How about ….
Metropolitan District Railway Station, South Harrow
??
Actually your title sounds ok.
It’s good it focuses on the building
Thanks for the tip on the description. I’ll update with something similar.
Fingers crossed!!
I’m nervous whenever I see a Niantic Review. I feel like I’m on a naughty step for some reason. Don’t know why… maybe a bad childhood thing… always trying to do right…
And accepted… Phew! Thanks for the input @elijustrying, it’s appreciated.

And another railway based feature as a wayspot
Whoop! Well done to you and Eli!!
I suspect there’s a few more that I could submit from my local(ish) area. But need to do some more research. I always suspected that the one in South Harrow had some significance, but until recently, I didn’t know why or what.
There’s a few Halt stops where the original platforms no longer exist, or exist in places where there’s no public access. The old station entrance / building in Greenford, for example, is now a mini business park. So much history in my area that I had no idea about.
