Location edit appeal

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Denica Shephard Memorial
  • Location (lat/lon): 43.78279, -79.188343
  • City: Toronto
  • Country: Canada
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):

My location edit was incorrectly rejected.
This was my original edit:

The current incorrect wayspot location is shown in the picture below:

It should be moved to the correct location as indicated by the arrow:

The following pictures of the plaque clearly show that it is at the end of a bench on a curved section of the path.

If you rotate the view on the Ingress Intel viewer by 90 degrees, you can clearly see the correct wayspot location as indicated below:

If you can visit the location take an image of the wayspot with an app the adds the GPS data to the photo.

Hi @GCOneSixtyOne
I’ve moved your topic to General Discussion because Wayspot Appeals is for appealing rejected removal requests or to ask for reinstating removed wayspots.
You can appeal your rejected edit over the appeal button on your contribution. You have 2 appeals and than a waiting time of 20 days before they refresh.
Or you can do a location edit >10m over helpchat (wayfarer menue → help → orange bubble)

Any recommendations for a specific app? I used to use Google Earth to upload a photosphere with every nomination but that stopped being an option a couple years ago.

The appeal button for rejected location edits is pretty much useless. Location edits almost always require photo evidence to support the move and you can’t add pictures to appeals. It’s an incredibly frustrating process when a location edit gets rejected despite you knowing the area better than any of the reviewers reviewing the edit request.

I use “GPS Map Camera” Android.

Than try help chat. There you can add your photo evidence
