Description of the Request: Hello Wayfarer Team, I would like to request a location adjustment for the accepted Wayspot “Historische Infotafel: Die alte Dorf-Frisörstube”.
The current pin is placed right on the street/roadway. To ensure better accuracy and safe pedestrian access for players, the pin should be moved slightly west, closer to the actual building structure where the historical information board is located. This ensures players can stand safely on the sidewalk next to the building rather than near the street.
Thank you for your help in adjusting this to the correct real-world access point!
This isn’t how to get a wayspot location corrected. As this is less than 10m, you can request this from inside Pokemon Go.
However, help chat at Niantic Wayfarer may be better as you will need to provide evidence of the correct location, since there is not streetview to assist.
Both the current and suggested locations are in the same cell and both appear to be on the pavement - I can’t actually see a safety problem here.
Hi, welcome to the forum! Are you trying to get your own approved nomination moved?
This is not really something that can be done on this forum, so I would suggest using the help chat instead if you can’t go to it in person. Go to the Wayfarer website, to the Help section, and to the orange chat bubble that pops up in the bottom right corner. Then, choose “Wayspot edits”.
Note that you will need to include evidence (for example, to support what has been shared in your post here, a photo would help a lot since there is no Street View). Note also that edits “for convenience” or for game purposes are not allowed, the wayspot’s location should represent where it is in real life. If its real location is not safe to access then it’s just not an eligible wayspot altogether. I also don’t see a safety problem here, that said. If it’s an accuracy problem then you should say so and provide the corresponding evidence.
Ah, my bad! I got a bit confused with the map layout and honestly thought the playground was located in the right-hand cell, while the info sign would sit on the other side even with the curent location.
Just to make sure I’m looking at it correctly now: do both the playground and my suggested pinpoint for the info sign actually fall into the exact same cell on the eastern side of that main grid line?
Thanks again for clearing that up, I really appreciate your help with the location check!
Unfortunately both wayspots are in the same cell just to the west of the cell boundary. Had the playground been submitted further east, which it could have been, it would be in a different cell, but it cannot be moved there now.
The current location is accurate and the move would not be an improvement, but solely for gameplay purposes. Although this seems reasonable as a player, it could be seen as abuse of wayfarer, since wayfarer is game-agnostic.
A visual to show the cell lines. The marker is your suggested location.
Only correct real-life locations are valid. Misrepresenting something as unsafe in order to get it moved into the cell that is convenient for you can have consequences on your account. I would suggest looking for something else to nominate in the area instead. People here are very good at finding things that may have been overlooked via satellite and Street View.
