Request Minor Location Edit (~5m) for Accepted Wayspot Not in Pokémon GO

Hello Wayfarer Team,

I would like to ask for assistance regarding one of my accepted Wayspots.

The Wayspot has already been approved and is visible on the Wayfarer map, but it has not appeared in Pokémon GO. After checking more carefully, I realized that its current location is likely placed within the same S2 cell as another existing PokéStop, which is preventing it from appearing in-game.

I would like to request a small location adjustment of approximately 5 meters to better reflect the real-world position of the object and to avoid the cell conflict. The suggested adjustment is minimal and still accurately represents the actual location of the Wayspot.

Unfortunately, I am unable to edit the location myself since the Wayspot is already accepted and locked in Wayfarer.

Could you please help review and adjust the location slightly?

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Best regards,

Welcome to the forums

These are separate reasons. The first is legitimate - if the current location is not accurate, it can be moved to a more accurate location.

The second is not legitimate. You cannot move something just to make it appear in a separate cell. It can only be moved if it needs correcting and is currently inaccurate.

You can use help chat if something is not visible in Pokemon Go, but I always lose that link.

Thank you for the clarification, I understand the distinction.

In my case, the suggested adjustment is not intended to manipulate the S2 cell system, but rather to improve the positional accuracy of the Wayspot. After reviewing the location more carefully, I noticed that the current pin does not precisely match the real-world position of the object.

The adjustment I am proposing is very minor (around 5 meters) and would place the Wayspot more accurately on the actual object.

I completely understand and respect the guidelines, and I am not trying to move it arbitrarily for game-related reasons, but to ensure the Wayspot reflects its true location.

If needed, I can provide supporting photos or map references to demonstrate the correct position.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Just to add to @salixsorbus post…

Niantic have never confirmed the cells.

“Help” will need evidence that it is located where you suggest.

Even if agreed it is currently incorrect they may decide where it is best to locate which may not be at your suggestion.

If it is decided that the current location is correct even if your suggested location is also correct that can be seen as Abuse.

Only “Incorrect Location” to “Correct Location” edits should be attempted.

Remember that Abuse can lead to suspensions on both Wayfarer and Game accounts.

Good Luck.

Hi @pandamonium2 , welcome to the Wayfarer Community Forum. I have moved the Wayspot to its correct location. You should see the changes reflected soon.

To submit location edits, you can either do it from Pokémon GO app if the relocation is within 10m or raise a report through Wayfarer help chat bubble: Niantic Wayfarer

Ah, I did have the right page, but since it is completely blank, I assumed I didn’t.

This is what I get when I click on the help page

Hi, thank you very much for your help and for correcting the location.

I really appreciate your time and assistance. I will wait for the changes to be reflected in Pokémon GO.

Thanks again!

Currently, the Wayfarer web help page is down and it is currently under review.

However, the help chat bubble is still working. If it does not show up immediately when you open the help page, wait for a couple of seconds and the help chat bubble should show up.

Bottom right corner is a help bubble. Use that chat to request wayspot location edits.

Ah. I didn’t notice the help chat bubble because the page looked empty and I didn’t consider any part of it might be working. User error

I’ll make sure to include that info in any posts telling me to use the help chat

And if you use Ambassador Tntnnbltn’s plugins he has one that allows you to move the help chat around so you can use the sidebar to grab pin locations etc. Very handy! - ‘Draggable Help Chat’

Oh, and one other thing to bear in mind: if you use this method it will generate a ticket number, but often your session can get closed and you may lose the reply from Niantic if/when they action your request.

Useful, but if I do that, I will definitely forget I have the add-on installed and will not be able to tell people where the help chat bubble is for them.

Thank you for verifying this! I was still sending folks to the page since I could see the bubble, but didn’t want to start a help chat request just to test it.
