Hello! Newer to this Wayfarer thing but eager to make my area more engaging (and safe!) for players. I requested a move greater than 10 meters for a wayspot a couple days ago. Within 3 hours, I got an affirmative response from supposedly a human with this line:
…We have moved the referenced Wayspot to the correct location. You should see the changes reflected soon.
I expected these changes to happen within the most recent 2 map updates (which I have heard occur around 6-7PM GMT) but have seen no changes. Where I had seen the number “48 hours” floated around, this is what I imagined was the reason. When should I expect the change (if at all)? I’m aware the move might not be exactly what I chose, but hopefully it should be similar enough to notice. I even attached an image (the road this is on is busy and has no sidewalks, so my image came from Google Maps) that should hopefully indicate it accurately.
For anyone able to look it up, the help desk ticket number is 37736594. Thanks in advance!
Ok, welcome!
But also I gotta ask - how did you request a relocation of greater than 10m?
I have one in particular that has really stuck in my craw but several too that are all data-created (and incorrectly located) Power Spots in PoGo that they have given me little to no recourse or response to my inquiries.
You can use help chat for this! Go to https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help and a text box will pop up. One of the options is for location edits >10k. A bot will take information and human will get back to you, usually within 24 hours.
Some people lose the help chat history and prefer to use the form listed above under Wayspot Removals. Unlike help chat, this will start an email chain. The form can be used for removals or modifications:
If you use this form, the things you can select don’t always match up to what you want to report. Just pick something close, then explain the issue in the text box. You will get an automated acknowledgement email you should not reply to, which may ask for your credentials as property owner, even if you said you weren’t in the report. A human will get back to you.
I don’t lose the help chat history and much prefer doing it that way.
Oh, and side question - in Pokemon Go, this Wayspot is a gym, and is one of three Wayspots in its’ L14 cell. It will be moving to a different L14 cell. Will one of the remaining two be upgraded to a gym when this move takes place? The other two stops are much safer to access on foot, which would make this change much better for the community.
I am really bad when I can’t see the cells in front of me, but will give this a go. Gyms are created when there are 2, 6, and 20 total Pokestops and gyms in an L14, and the max number of gyms that can be created in an L14 through Wayfarer is 3. So in this specific case, when the gym is moved out of the L14 and two pokestops are all that is left in the L14, then one of those two should be promoted to a gym.
If there is a sponsored gym in the L14, the sponsored gym will count as the first gym for that slot and one will not be promoted. There could be other weirdness based on specific property owner requests.
The moved gym may or may not remain a gym it its new L14, depending on the situation there.
It would, if I remember correctly, become the 5th gym in the L14 cell it would go into, so it seems to me like it would revert back to a stop. I do have a spot that I can likely submit as a Wayspot to get that back up to 6, though!
Most of that is hoping it goes where it’s supposed to. The wayspot itself is a sign for a building that’s on the right side of the entrance, and that’s roughly the location I placed it at. The red circle is where it was (that is someone’s house with a long driveway), the green circle is where the sign is, and the blue line is the L14 cell border. Hand-drawn, so not 100% accurate, but close enough to get the point across!
you can send evidence for the edit with either help chat or the form. geo-tagged photos work well. if your phone’s camera doesn’t have the location feature, you can get a separate app to put the coordinates on the photo, but i don’t use one of those.
I am not sure what you are asking. You can send more information on an open ticket. If the ticket has been closed, you can open a new ticket and reference the old one if the location is still not correct.
I have often had them make the adjustment with just the Google Maps images for reference. The other recommendations I made were for times when Google Maps is not enough.
Hi @pokekonq , I can confirm that the Wayspot has been moved to the correct location in Pokémon GO map and it is a PokéStop. Please write back to us if you still see in the old location.
