I contacted Wayfarer Support yesterday to request a location edit of >10m. The incorrect wayspot location was in a POGO S17 cell on its own and the requested correct location is in a different POGO S17 cell on its own. Requested coordinates: 51.661026, -1.302414.
After I submitted it, my mobile phone browser refreshed the chat, so I lost the conversation, including the reference number, so I haven’t seen any response from Wayfarer Support. I am certain I made the request after 5pm GMT.
However, I noticed later that evening after the usual POGO sync time that the old pokestop location had disappeared from the game, but there was no new pokestop visible. I was surprised any change had happened the same day, because my request would have been after the POGO sync deadline, which I believe to be about 4 hours prior to sync (currently some time between 7 & 8pm GMT). For example, I had a nomination accepted at 5:18pm on Wednesday and that didn’t appear in POGO until Thursday evening.
Does anyone know if the POGO sync deadline doesn’t apply to wayspot removals, so that it is possible for moved wayspots to disappear from game independently of the new wayspot appearing in game?
Hi, I see there are a few different things at this location, which exact wayspot were you trying to move?
Sync cutoffs definitely apply for moves - the game can’t know about it immediately after your move is executed (assuming it was). If you calculated the sync deadline and are certain you made your request after that (plus, it usually takes some time to get a response), the simple explanation could be that it’s not your request that got actioned but someone else’s
This doesn’t seem to be the case here anyway, but be aware the reviewer handling location requests done through help chat can very much check and sometimes will move to a location they estimated more appropriate than what is requested. This move is usually final.
I was trying to move a wayspot for a play area from the location of a basketball court to the location a climbing frame, the latter already being the photo for the wayspot.
If this is about Masefield Crescent Play Area, it looks like its current location is exactly where you requested, so you probably just need to give it time to sync.
That’s the one. If it still needs time to sync, which is what I would otherwise expected, it is the removal of the old wayspot that has already occurred that is causing my confusion.
No clue either and don’t want to speculate - but historically moves have been known to work in weird ways, sometimes a wayspot will not despawn from a game for a few days even though it should, sometimes the outcomes in eg. Pokémon GO and Ingress will be inconsistent.
If it takes a few days and still doesn’t appear, I would suggest posting here again.
The old pokestop is just out of sight from where I live, but I thought I used to be able see it in the background as it zooms in when I clicked on the nearby gym and no longer could. It turns out this was an erroneous assumption and the old pokestop IS still there. It is directly behind one of the other pokestops from my angle of sight.
Sorry for wasting your time and fingers crossed for the sync later.
