This wayspot was one of 3 council signs with artwork made by children of a local school (St Michael’s) encouraging people to pick up their rubbish.
- Wayspot Title: Hungry Bins
- Location (lat/lon): 51.3287907, -0.2665278
- City: Epsom
- Country: England, UK
- Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
- Additional Information (if any): [Edit ]. The portal is artwork by children put on a sign. It meets none of the removal criteria. It is still there. It seems to be a case of them just trying to remove everything & seeing what they can get away with.

A reminder that appeals should focus solely on why a wayspot should be removed or restored due to criteria.
References to games and accusations around teams are not relevant and will be removed.
The wayfarer team can access these if needed.
If there is evidence of malicious manipulation of wayfarer please use the report form at the top of this forum.

Reporting abuse in the way you suggested just does the same as here, either it’s fixed or it’s not. The abuse is never looked at
Also malicious removals or removals of any kind are not an option on that screen

As I said if the wayfarer team consider it relevant they can read the comments.
The wider accusations should be reported via the report abuse form. You may make reference to this as an example.
You will see I have edited out your repeated references.
It’s a shame there’s nothing we can do about report abuse that gets valid way spots removed, niantic should act better on it, and punish people who falsely report way spots just to bully players.

Reporting Abuse in Wayfarer — Wayfarer Help Center
Not sure if this is what you are referring to …
from the bottom of that page

So if you make false allegations it is considered to be punishable behaviour.
I know about that part, but I’ve never seen Niantic enforce it actually, even though there have been a lot of obvious cases I’ve observed, hence why I’m mentioning it. A rule only works when it’s being enforced.

Also that one is purely about abuse reports, I’m talking about falsely reporting lots of wayspots to remove wayspots from players they dislike.

That’s what I see too. You get malicious removals & moves reversed from reporting but thst seems to be all they do. Fix it every time and nothing else.
It means they have to keep spending time fixing it because they don’t fix the root problem of the repeat abusers.
You can’t even mention that abuse is happening in the forums without it being edited or thread closed so it also hides it/stops it being fixed

Yes also we first already worked hard to get the points in game, and now were being expected to keep asking for it to be restored, just because some abusers mass reporting way spots for no valid reason.

I followed your advice and used the report abuse option and the reply I got from Niantic despite explaining the abuse was :
I see that you’re trying to report an in-game location. Please reach out to our dedicated team using the following link and they will be able to assist you accordingly:
Request modification or removal of a PokéStop or Gym – Pokémon GO
Thanks,
The link takes you to a page where you have to tick to say you are the landowner or something to continue.
So no, choosing that option does not work or Niantic staff are not dealing with the correctly. So there is no way to report abusive removals

Abuse by an explorer can also be reported to help chat: Niantic Wayfarer
Have you tried this option?

Trust me when it’s about about mass removal abuse, I’ve reported multiple times and niantic does nothing.

Appeal Rejected - Thanks for the appeal, Explorer. We gave this a second look and stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.
Look I’m talking about the RESTORATION of a wayspot portal (saying it’s not safe to publicly post on the forums, due to an extremely aggresive person in our community). And they tell me to use the wayfarer help chat, they send me a link where I can REMOVE, something, Aaron says that is the place for restoring something, even though it’s not…
Does Niantic not know the difference between RESTORING or REMOVING a wayspot?
Also why is there no place to anonymously request a RESTORING of incorrectly removed wayspots (it happens a lot sadly).
Aaron tell me what to do, the wayfarer chat, says it’s not for that purpose and you say it constantly is, while they reject me and tell me to endanger my and others safety on the forums.

The decision makes zero sense to me and I’m sure most wayfarer. It’s community based artwork. Make it make sense …
