Monster hunter now, Une synchronisation des points?

Bonjour !

Hello and Welcome Hero/Trainer @darkrowl64

Wayspots accepted into the database are available for selection for each game board (Pokemon Go, Monster Hunter Now, and Pikmin Bloom). Note that a wayspot can be used in all, some, or none of the games based on the inclusion rules for each game.

I don’t know the details on how Monster Hunter Now selects which wayspots are used. But I do know that they don’t do a regular sync. Pokemon Go is scheduled to sync daily if there are no special circumstances.

@SerAmanda may be able to give you some additional details.

I am hoping that MHNow and Pikmin Bloom will choose to sync more often in the future :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

This is an issue that I strongly believe needs improved coordination between Niantic teams.

It is clear from the game board that a maximum of 8 Wayspots are adopted as Gathering Points within an S2 Level 14 cell. Wayspot title, location edits, and deletions are actually reflected periodically. However, when new Wayspots are registered, no new Gathering Points are generated even in cells that have not reached the maximum number of Points. This synchronization has been broken for over a year, meaning many Wayspots added during last year’s Wayfarer Challenge have never been adopted.

The biggest issue in Monster Hunter Now (MHN) right now is the disappearance of the new system called Haunts. These are critical locations where players engage in Surge Events (Monster Surges) - which take place regularly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for one hour each day, dedicated to hunting a specific monster. Before the Surge begins, Hunters accumulate points towards rewards by submitting cards from visited Gathering Points (Wayspots) to the Haunt. However, if the Wayspot associated with a Haunt is deleted or significantly moved via Wayfarer, the Haunt where hunters have accumulated points simply vanishes before the Surge begins or before the rewards are claimed. If a Haunt disappears, players cannot participate in the Surge Event without traveling to the next town. This completely ruins one of the few events that gathers players in MHN, a game that otherwise prioritizes improved playability. The result is a growing risk of hate being directed towards Pokémon GO (PoGO), the only game that can currently participate in Wayfarer submissions, and we are already seeing signs of this.

At a minimum, the synchronization and reflection of Wayspot edits and deletions should occur only when the accrual and reward period for the Haunt/Surge Event changes (I believe it’s every 2 or 3 weeks). Furthermore, the system must be updated to select new Haunts regularly. And critically, new Wayspots should be adopted as Gathering Points to mitigate the disparity between urban and rural areas.

Could the Wayfarer team please push this matter to the MHN team?

Hello @darkrowl64!

Monster Hunter Now has only ever had one sync–August 21, 2025–and it was not even a proper sync.
On that sync, any L14s which did not contain a node synched new nodes from the POI database (up to 8 per cell). However if the L14 cell contained even 1 node already, then it synched ZERO new nodes (even if there were numerous possible POI it could have pulled from from the POI database).

Prior to that, the MHN map was running off of a May 2022 snapshot from the POI database.
So now it is a strange hybrid of both.

On a side note, related to the Haunts/Outbreak locations @CrownFeather mentioned, in the MHN dev post about December 2nd updates, this was mentioned:

Exploration Bases

  • Adjustments made to exploration bases.

    • Once each Wave ends, the previous locations of bases may change to new ones.

    • Even if a base changes location, you may still receive rewards from the Base Awards.

I suppose we won’t know what this really means until later in the month (after the next wave ends), but I am hopeful that this means that L13 cells that do not contain an Outbreak location will be able to get one.

It seems like we are using Exploration Bases/Outbreak locations/Haunts as different words for the same feature.

MHN has its own community forums, that would be a better avenue to advocate for map sync.

This is an issue with MHNow, not Wayfarer. However, I think it’s a bit unkind that they’ve stopped syncing new wayspots and only sync removals.
You may want to ask on the MHNow forum to have the wayspot synced.

I feel sorry for you because, even if MHNow and Pikmin Bloom can submit wayspots in the future, your contributions will be useless in the game, considering your waypoint submission rules.
If you decide to make a request, we recommend setting a timer so the game rotates the wayspots that appear and synchronizes them regularly.
You will benefit more by doing so.

It’s best to post on the official MHNow forum.
While it will ultimately be a request from players, I believe it’s more likely to be addressed since hunters from other countries are saying the same thing.
