My 1st Wayfarer anniversary!

This will look like a bragging post, so please forgive me :folded_hands:

Today is 11th June, which is exactly the day I made my first submission, an exercise machine!!

And I thought to myself, maybe I could submit a couple Pokestops here, here and there and that’s about it, I will forget about it the next month. How deeply wrong I am.

  1. How wonderful the community here:
  • In all honestly, when I made the account forum here, I want to ask if “Blood donation center” or “canteen”(Well Cafeteria) is eligible for Wayspots. And I did not expected to really care much about the forum, because I got my answer, but then, I got a warning, for a fake submission.
  • When i saw that email I was scared, and then I calm down knowing I do nothing wrong, so I posted the problem in this forum and the community has been helpful to guide me what to do, or where to post, and I got my warning removed  , thanks to the swift action of the Wayfarer Staff of course.
  • After this incident, I feel much safer and want to engage with the community more, and learn a lot about how Wayfarer Criteria work. And then, I took part to post about Wayfarer to Vietnam community, and did not except how big it turn out. People love to fill out pokestop, reach to me to help making a wayspot, and watching every local community from North to South growth is really cool.
  • Then some times passed, I decided to post some flower pole, because I think they are a beauty to the city and they are great place to explore about the culture. Unfortunealy and understandably, some of my pole was getting an education email, until a staff come, and approved all my in queue and eligible submissions. This is geniuely surprised me and I feel so much secure posting from now on! Also what a way to get 100th submissions approved!!
  • During my journey and settle in this community, I have learned so many things, get to know so many people and even learn about different culture!! It was an amazing family. Shout out to all the Niantic Staff, who have made the platform being incredible, all the ambrassadors and the regular, from both this forum, and the wonderful Discord server, for being helpful on both criteria discussion, encouragement!
  1. Now the stats.
  • In my first year of Wayfarer, I have posted 482 new Wayspots, which is astonishing number and I have never imagined myself reaching it, and also 11000 agreements! Which is honestly unbelievable, but I love seeing small community slowly grow their community until it become bigs, hence why it fuel my reviewing energy.

  • This is a time lapse and all location I have put on every wayspot!

(I don’t know how to end or transition so..help)
Well, what a journey it is for me, and with a wonderful community, with a great staff and great local, I hope I can continue with Wayfarer for many year to come!
Happy Wondering and Exploring! And a great day to you all!

I love your story! Thanks for sharing!

484 is truly amazing this means you used nearly every nomination you had available all year! Congrats. This shows long time dedication and a bounty of fun new explorations of your area. Which were your favorites? Any fun stories?

Hi!!

My favorite probably the two submissions: The Ánh Dưƥng Lake viewpoint where it is actually a breathtaking view of the lake, that was being cleaned from garbage years ago.

And the second one is a local coffee shop, with a name, no google map. I thought the submission was dead because even though it is a great local meeting up for people who work in the nearby factory, it has no google map to show it off, only streetview history.

I like that you persisted with these and got them through on appeal.

And that the 2 are so very different, it shows the wide range of places that we visit and then share with others by making wayspots. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I read and watched your journey in this forum:eyes:. It’s always great to see someone reach out and take on board the support offered……and then go on to help others.:tada:
I hope you have a great time in year 2.
