Email said it can take up to 48 hours… but it’s been 5 days. Should I nominate again? Why? What happened, a bug? And there is no POIs next to it, and the location is the correct one.

I have this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question:
I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. (Eligible Wayspots are added to Pokemon Go in a sync that happens once a day normally. If it has not been more than 48 hours since it was accepted, it could just be that it has not synced in yet.)
Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. We explorers haven’t figured out the schedule for syncing in new Power Spots, but it is not on a daily basis at this time.
If you would like to leave the title and location, someone here with access to external resources may be able to confirm if there is indeed an issue with the S2 cells. But since the sale to Scopely has affected these Niantic (now NianticSpatial) maps being updated, it may be more difficult. The gps coordinates where you pinned the Wayspot will be after the second photo in the email you received when you submitted the nomination, but the pin may have been moved in voting. Do be aware this is a public forum if you would rather not reveal your location. I realize this is a lot of information to dump on someone, so please ask if you have more questions.

Thank you for submitting a Wayspot nomination!
While some nominations may be deemed eligible by the community of reviewers on Niantic Wayfarer for inclusion into Niantic’s location database, they may not necessarily be added into every Niantic game. After a nomination is approved by reviewers, there is an additional automated review that determines whether the nomination is an appropriate fit for each particular Niantic game. Each game has their own set of criteria for this step, so some nominations may be accepted into one game but not another.
The most common reason that an eligible nomination is not added to Pokémon GO is because the nomination is too close to existing PokéStops or Gyms. If an existing game location is removed or the criteria changes, the nomination may appear within Pokémon GO at a later time.
Please keep in mind that while this is a common reason, it is not the only one.

This map is no longer updating, but I see a portal in the same L17 S2 cell as the coordinates you gave me. Is this Wayspot in Pokemon Go? There can only be one Pokemon Go object in each L17 S2 cell.
This was only a consideration for something to go live in Ingress.

Ok, seems someone moved that one, rhe Merenderos, it was in the cell up before, someone had to move it right? Or it can be moved automatically? Cause it shouldn’t be there
If something is in the wrong place in real life, you can use help chat to get it corrected. They will want evidence of the actual location if it isn’t obvious on the map, like a geotagged photo. When you go to Niantic Wayfarer a text box will pop up and a bot will ask for information, but a human will get back to you. They will not move something simply to put it into a different S2 cell for Pokemon Go, only for a real life correction.
Alternatively, you can use the “Wayspot Removals” form linked at the top of the forum for modification requests, too, if you prefer to start an email chain. Help Chat replies do not come through email.
I should make clear that I cannot confirm the Wayspot you submitted is at the coordinates you gave me. Pins can be moved in voting. You can confirm where the Wayspot went live from the nomination map screen with the toggle on. Wayspots that don’t appear as stops or gyms will show as exclamation points, like this:
